Hard for me to make a recommendation as I don't like them, but have used enough rifles so equipped to know that USUALLY the most effective brakes are also the loudest and most obnoxious. I do understand their effectiveness in speed competition, or the really big bore stuff.
I have a .308 CETME that came with whatever brake the importer decided to use. It is so effective that the rifle literary kicks like a .223. It also requires double hearing protection, and will clear the bench top of anything not nailed down from muzzle blast. To me, an incredible amount from a .308.

The links below aren't for a brake. Most people use the terms muzzle brake and flash hider interchangeably.
If my assumption is out of line, I apologize.
The reason I mounted a FH on my DPMS LR308 instead of a brake was muzzle rise is nonexistent on my unit, but I'm running a 20" barrel, an adjustable gas block, a flat buffer spring, and a radically modified buffer.

I have the surefire procomp 7.62 brake and I love it. Not expensive and reduces recoil considerably. I've got the 18 inch barrel optics ready .308 btw.

I was drawn to this section and this thread not because I know anything about these rifles nor muzzle brakes (with one exception), but because I'm familiar with the folks at Southern Precision Tooling who did some gunsmithing for me----and did it perfectly---and quickly------never mind they're virtually impossible to find without GPS stuff. Along the way I came to learn about the HU-DU muzzle brake---their baby. I learned about its conception, birth, and upbringing----and most of all that it works. It works beyond my wildest imagination----watch their videos.
So anyhow, now that I was drawn here my teeth started to hurt---an affliction of mine usually caused by a display of what I deem to be injurious behavior. As is often the case I found someone seemingly focused on price rather than quality----and function-----little stuff like that.
Me-----I focus on function. Is this thing I want to buy going to do what I want done? Is it going to do it better than any other thing like it? Now---if the price of the best there is leaves me gasping for air, then maybe it's time to fall back and regroup. On the other hand maybe it's time to damn the torpedoes, and go full speed ahead!!

This is what I have on mine and my other AR15s since flash hiders are restricted here in NJ. I can definitely agree with this recommendation.
Well I just received an Ultradyne Apollo Max Compensator Muzzle Brake with Timing Nut from Midway for my S&W MP10.
After researching ,price & reviews + YouTube video I hope I will be happy with it. BTW haven't even fired rifle yet
Price seemed great compared to the Lantac I have on my AR15. Which is fantastic Hope it is a good.
Still planning on HUDU for Weatherby 30-378.
Fired MP10 with the Ultradyne today. Fantastic brake.
MP also had Limb Saver installed by previous owner, makes for a smooth shooting rifle.
