I have a 66-1 that I sent to the factory for tuning up. It has V and an L on the cylinder. What does the L mark signify?

thanks much,

Dick

Since it is a SS gun and none of these had the Right Hand Threads(early Model numbered guns were marked with an "L" when the Factory was making the change over from the Right Handed Threads on the Ejector Rod) I'm guessing it is just an Inspectors' mark and so is the "V". It may have some "meaning" to someone at the Factory but not unless your gun was modified at the time it went back for some reason.
