Hi all!

I am starting this post to find out what your significant other carries? What does your wife carry? What do you carry? If you're a wife what does your husband carry? If you're in a committed relationship what does that other person carry? I am gathering ideas for my wife. She has a CCW but hasn't carried since she got it (explanation for that in one second), but now that we have had our first child she wants to carry. She has small hands, and is a small lady. Rest assured however she is no stranger to firearms! She shot skeet competitions in college so she knows her way around long guns like a champ. This wouldn't be her first experience with smaller arms though, her Dad growing up had a nice wheel gun collection. She is looking for a semi-auto more so than a revolver, since she poopoos the idea saying "Wheel guns under 6 inches are for sissies." Though I will take any suggestion you have got. We have tried the Bodyguard and didn't like it though, and the Shield.
Thanks! I know this is a hard one, but I appreciate anyone's response.
:p

Update: of course I am not going to pick it for her! I just would like to get some suggestions of what people like lately. We'll end up going to the shop and feeling a few guns, and then shooting what they will let us shoot.

My wife carries a MR Desert Eagle Micro 380 in her purse. Small, steel, shoots well. 6 + 1.

My wife carries either a Ruger LCR 357 or a S&W 6906 depending on if she is CC or OC.

My wife is in the process of looking for her carry gun. She is leaning towards the shield in 9mm, she likes how it feels in her hand. she also liked the LC9 from Ruger but we haven't had a chance to shoot either of them.

Mine carries:

A Colt Combat Commander (enhanced pre-XS series) when she has her purse or is out in the field.

A Sig p238 when she needs to dress around it...

And from time to time she will swipe one of my 340/640's, but she says they hurt her hands with 357 mag, but they are great with shot shells.

She does also tote around a model 63 4" when mowing of clearing fence lines (to dispatch snakes).

I carry the M&P 9mm FS
and the girlfriend carries a M&P 9c

She loved shooting my gun so she got the compact version since she was already very familiar with the system.

My wife carries a Ruger SP101 with a 2½-inch barrel. She keeps it loaded with .357's and an occasional snake load to dispatch any unwanted reptiles around the place.

Granted, it's a wheel gun that's under six inches, but I sure as heck wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of that thing.

Our daughter prefers a 9mm Glock...but other than that, she's a pretty good kid.

If I'm not carrying a .45 Colt, my concealed carry is either a 3¼-inch barrel SP101 or a Ruger LCP .380. Dang...I guess that makes me a sissy.:)

My wife would love to carry her Smith model 539 but its too hard to conceal on her small frame wearing summer clothes. She carries a stainless Interarms PPK in .380 loaded with hollowpoints. She says it beats a sharp stick or a shrill scream.

7shooter beat me to it!

My wife seldom carries concealed. Her first gun (other than the Single Six she stole from me) was a Taurus 85, and she still has it. I put her on restrictions from carrying it as the hammer spring has weakend and it has occasional light strikes. She gets it back after I replace the spring.

A problem has developed, though. When we were shooting with the grandkids a couple weeks ago she tried my 669. Dammit. It's her nightstand gun now.......

She Used to carry an M-60, until the fateful day I let her shoot this. She took one shot and said: "if this would only fit in my purse"...
I sure am glad it don't fit and she`s back with the 60!!!

My wife grew up on a farm, and she shot a lot of long guns from an early age on. She had LE training using revolvers years ago, but doesn't feel the need to carry daily. Right now, she's off to a horse event with my 642, which she will most likely keep handy in the truck's console or the trailer's living quarters. I'm hoping that she decides she likes having it around. I think a small .38 Special is just about the perfect, reliable, SD carry for anybody.

My wife carries a 432 or a 908S. Speed loaders with the 432 or an extra Mag with the 908S. She also carries a Kimber Pepper blaster, small flashlight and a knife. Her OC and bedside gun is a 6906.

What I carry depends on the time of year. Summer is either a G19, CS9 or a 640. Winter is a variety as well. A M&P 45, 3" 24 or 29 or a 386 SC.

A 442 always goes with any off the above as a BUG.

Ruger DAO SP101 with a 2.25-inch barrel carried in a lobo pancake. She does not shoot magnums but does very well with +P 38 specials.
