Jeez, that F-35 is loud. Just got through its routine for today.

Almost as bad as that time back in the 90s in the Panamint Valley, when an F-16 pilot decided to use my truck for a mock strafing run at a (at least perceived) 50 feet off the deck, and then pulled up with afterburners :D

PS: Oops, I spoke too early. Just caught the formation fly-by actually on cell camera:

Hell yeah! Some pics from the last air shows we went to. If hearing an F22 overhead doesn't get your blood pumping I don't think we can hang.

There's an alternate universe me out there that made their dreams of flight a reality, and another where I was a good photographer, but in this reality, these are the pics you get

Getting a ride on a B-17's at an air show still on my bucket list, now that i can afford it...
I used to commercial fish at night near Patrick AFB and would anchor up for a nap just south of the base and get woke up at dawn by fighters taking off overhead. great way to get up

None there now. I saw a CH-46 circling the other day and a C-130 sitting on the ramp. A long time ago (1980's) we would deploy there once in a while with our A6-E's for bombing on the Pine Castle ranges.

I live three mile from Luke AFB, I love the f35 the sound of freedom

I live in SW Va and play golf at a course near Lexington. On clear days you can hear and see pairs of fighter jets flying low hugging the mountain ridges headed West into WVa. airspace on training missions. I understand there is a restricted airspace over there for this pupose. i assume these guys come out of Norfolk Naval Air Station. Always a thrill to see them!

I was in the Air Force Security Police and witnessed the first combat flight of the SR-71 from Kadena Air Base. This was an absolutely amazing aircraft to watch. We had one on display at the Air Guard Base in Minneapolis until the CIA took it away. Typical government greed.

There is nothing which can beat the sound of the Rolls Royce V12 Merlin engine found in Spitfires and some P51 Mustangs who are making a low pass overhead!.

Fully agree. As a callow youth (all of just under 5) I lived very close to the River Mersey, and Speke airport (now Liverpool Airport) was where the original Merlin to P51 marriage was performed. We kids used to lay on the sand and watch the P51s and Spits plus Hurricanes fly on test flights with "followers". Dave_n

We have a small local park called Cullinan a couple miles from the house. It is right next to a small airport. I often go birding there with my good camera. Caught this bird flying by one day.

I believe that's a Fairchild two place trainer. the Air Force used them, to train fighter pilots. The sky was full of 'em in the daytime, in my area during WW2.
B17 flying fortresses were also, seen and heard 24 hrs, a day at that time, in my area. They were based at Locbourn AFB, in Locbourn , OH.
