What grips for 19-3

I found a nice 19-3 I don't need and can't afford. We know how that story ends.

Anyway, it has new grips. Look good but may not be correct.

What would the right grips be?

Most likely targets with football cutout.

Goncalo Alves target stocks with the football extractor cut. Almost certainly without the diamond (unless it is a very early -3).

Unless it's a 2.5" round butt. Then it came with Walnut magnas.

I've never seen an early 19-3 with diamond center stocks, round or square. There are plenty of late square butt 19-2's that shipped with non-diamond center GA football targets.

I had, (and have), several 19-3 parts kits that came directly after they were cut in two....Both came with football cut targets.

I agree that it isn't likely. I haven't seen one either. However, the order for eliminating the diamond on K frame target stocks was Change Order #1032, and it was issued on December 28, 1967. Since the 19-3 was introduced in 1967, it seems it is possible that a -3 could have shipped with diamond targets.
