I'm stuck in the middle of the Holidays and am not able to buy for a few months. I'm curious as to what you want and why. I asked before(kinda) in a previous thread(I think). ;) So, anyway.., what is YOUR next choice and why? Any brand, caliber, or gauge...,rifle, pistol, or scattergun. Confess and you will be set free. Show examples if you can. You can also leave this thread up for the wife(husband) or potential Christmas buyer to see. :)

after a visit to local gun shops today i would say the S&W 1911 E series 5inch barrel. single side thumb safety. the feel of that gun was amazing. felt better than any pistol i've ever held. at less than 800 BNIB it will be mine.

Either a Model 1934 or Model 70s Beretta. (My mailing address is available upon request. ;) )

There are a few guns that I'd really like to get. I've been wanting to get a no-dash 640 for probably most of this year, so that's obviously on my list. However, I've been really getting an urge for a DAO 649-2. At this point I think it'd end up being whichever I find first when I finally get the funds together for one (which will hopefully happen early next year...*fingers crossed*). Of course, I'd also like to get another no-lock 642-1, but I want to get a steel J-frame before another airweight. I wouldn't mind getting a 2" 64 to replace the one I had to sell a couple of months ago, especially if it's a factory DAO/bobbed hammer model, but right now the J-frames are my priority.

Sir, what I actually need is a good .22 rifle, being as I don't currently have one. Should probably also look into a 9mm for Mrs. Ron H., probably Glock or Sig, for the same reason.

What I want is a whole 'nuther matter--and departs from the practical pretty quickly. :D

Hope this helps, and Semper Fi.

Ron H.

Next two on my list are a Remington 1100 Skeet Model in 12ga. and an early model Smith & Wesson Model 66 with 4" barrel.

1947 to 1950 K22 narrow rib...............this one had been posted by another member, of whom I'm jealous

Hmmm 3 1/2" Registered Magnum.... and while I'm dreaming.. a PAIR>> of them..

In reality? a 1947 k-22 shipped in October :D:D A birth year Gun

Well, I just got an old model Single six in about 98% so I've got my Christmas gun. Now I'm looking at a 13' Whaler for my Christmas boat
( This will take some finess-it's a LOT easier to hide a new gun than a new boat ;) ). Made an offer-he will either be insulted or I will end up with a nice swamp/skinny water boat for a good price. Then I will just have to bite the bullet, beg forgiveness and promise not to do it again :D

Today a small insurance payment finally arrived. In January a smaller one will arrive. That will give me enough cash to do some serious looking. I want to find a nice 4" nickle plated S&W 19-3 w/ box, etc. I want to replace one I had during my seminary education (1979-1982). I've also been giving a lot of thought to finding a nice three screw Ruger .44 Magnum Flat Top.

I'm craving a blued Walther PPK, not a PPK/S. Can't afford a German one, or an Interarms either, so I guess I'll hunt a new S&W version. Got a source that sells them for 512.00 plus tax, so I may go that route. Other than that, a decent, AFFORDABLE snub 19/66 or a three inch 13/65 would be pretty awesome.

Dang fine guns you are lusting after. Some of you are just making me jealous. I'm hoping for a user 27 from a friend a Fox(A.H.) double done by Pachmayer himself. The wood is INCREDIBLE!!!! The two should be had for around $3K total. I guess they are worth waiting for.

I'm saving for a 4wd truck. Can't get to the outdoors driving a sedan. Yet, there are guns which are tempting me:

1. 1911 compact. Been looking at RIA. CCW gun. It has to have the ability to shoot SA (physical limitations). 3913 is out.

2. 30/06 bolt action rifle. I want to hunt elk in the future. Checked out a few cheaper rifles but they felt flimsy.

3. EAA or Heritage arms 22LR SA revolver. For plinking fun.

I would love a 25-any in 45LC., A snuby in any 45, and/or a #3 or DA in 44 Russian and I don't want to sell a kidney them! Ivan

I am hoping to find a M25, .45acp, 4", nickel that I can afford. Second would be a M66, 2.5, both with box and docs. Yeah, I know, dream on.

Personally I would love a 6" Model 19-4 Blued, nice looking but a shooter, and must love long walks on the range.

I'm thinking I ought to have a .22 rifle. The top candidates are a 10/22 or something from CZ in a 452/455 or maybe a 512. But if I came across a CZ75B at a good price, I would put the rifle idea on hold.

By next week, I could be fixated on something else altogether, a Model 10, or who knows what else.

Looking through my meager collection the other day, I realized that I don't have a Mossberg 500 in 12 gauge or a Remington 870 in .410. Since I've priced the Remingtons lately, looks like I'll be scroungin' around for a Mossy. ;)

A well used, but not abused Model 10 for home defense, but maybe Ruger Mk III competition model, or a Pre-14, or 1905 Target, or a 6 1/2" Model 29, possibly a nice Garand, or.............just forget it.

Well for starters i want a Winchester lever-action in .44-40 for my Cowboy shooting.

Then i want a Smith model 53,

heck, i want one of every Smith and Wesson model made

Please Santa, i have been a good boy.
Honestly :o

So far I've kind of got a few in mind, mind you these arent set in stone and are still subject to change

1. Switch the Kimber and the colt seires 80 gold cup out for one of the original ones or a replica of one that was used in the war with the old style blued hammer, trigger and beaver tails and just wear gloves to prevent the hammer bite that plagued them and keep this as my ONE 1911, a pre 1911A1 with an old style bluing job as theres just something about the look of a blued original configuration 1911 you cant beat.

2. Switch out the glock .40 for either one that doesnt have finger groves as their rigged up so it doesnt line up with my fingers from the factory! or a Sig 229, probably go for the sig 229 as I'm getting tired of glocks and I'm thinking the original early 1980's 17L should be the only one I own on principal and I like the number of the sig too as it shares that designation with one of my all time favorite aircraft, the gotha 229, one of the most beautiful german X planes that ever flew at the end of the war and I like the look of it unlike the glock .40, non rail too, either that or a 239

3. and I'm still trying to make up my mind on the 645/4506 as something about them just doesnt look right in my mind and the finger groves might be just the thing that fixes the look for both of them as I'm through waiting for the vltor boys to make up their mind about the bren as honestly given the choice between an all blued bren ten and a 645/4506 and I'd go for the bren hands down all times so I've been trying to figure out how to get the 645 and 4506 up to the same level look wise as the bren, hence why I've held off on acquiring one for so long, that and I hadnt seen any around till the gunshow a month ago where all three showed up, a 1006, 4506 with a scrapped up slide (go figure on that one) and a like new 645

so far with the 645 its have the front sight replaced with a ramped gold dot one like on a kimber gold match mark 1 (minus the dot) to be more flush with the slide like the rear sight and not seem as unbalanced with it as the stock one, remove and cap and locktight the right side ambidexterious safety, switch out the grips for the latter style factory matt ones and maybe put the finger groves over it and have the trigger gone over if its got a hitch

with the square trigger guard 4506 have the whole gun rebeadblasted if it doesnt have an even looking silverish finish, have the slide hard chrome plated, put the latter straight grip on it and either put finger groves on it or skate board grip on it in the front, basically do this to a 4506 with the stock sights and square trigger guard:

http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo166/agtman/am_other-10mm-1.jpg

which someone did to a 1006

the other Idea I had was to go for a blued 4505 but its tripple the price, super rare and I would want to modify the frame and the sights as it would just cost too much money and would be wrong ontop of it

4. next up would be to go for a 245 but I'm kinda thinking I should just look for another all blued/black detonics combat master if its a range only gun, SAO only auto's worry me for carry work and then if I like a small .45 like that enough then look for a 245 as a carry piece

5. next up would be the beretta replacement but walther PP supers were only made for 3 years and are rather expensive and I need to look further into the matter to see if theres something that's an inbetween of the walther PP and beretta 85 out there thats just as good and blued as the walther with a proper take down lever, american style mag release, 3.7 - 4.0 inch barrel and all steel, ie an all steel slightly smaller blued sig 230 in .380 with an american mag release

6. and if I decide on going for a carry/lifetime .357 magnum either a pre dash 4 model 19 4 inch or a 3 1/2 model 27 pre dash 3 or both which would be in addition to my colt python subsitute a matt stainless .357 magnum Dan wesson V15 with a vetilated rib 4 inch barrel with the colt python like grips on it now that I have had for the past couple of years, and I got a steal on it too

275 bucks and the gunsmith who sold it to me didnt even notice it had a broken rear sight on it! after it was fixed it shot well and good, had to use another gauge to get the gap right between the barrel and the clyinder though as the one he gauge ge gave me was too big, need about .0002 or .0003 mm I think when putting the barrel back on after cleaning.

no extra barrels or shrouds though, but hey never look a gifted horse in the mouth and 4 inches with that new packmyer grip feels just right and looks exactly like a colt python with a 4 inch barrel

basically this
File:Pred2 2028.jpg - imfdb :. guns in movies :. movie guns :. the internet movie firearms database

with the 4 inch barrel of this in stainless to match the gun
http://www.imfdb.org/w/images/8/86/DW15-VH.jpg

with rare pachmayr presentation grips on it that I had to get off of ebay, which makes it look pretty damn close to an actual python.

other than that I think that pretty much does it for handguns, save for a K38 just for the hell of it as a companion piece to the 1950's K22, walther P5 and maybe a walther P88 if I really feel the need for it as I loved the one I shot at the range once but it lacked in the looks department, too plain jane but other than that I'm fully satisified with my collection thus far and not many people can say that.

I mean unless a bren marksman model in .45 acp poped up that's a 100% shootabile for less that 2 grand that pretty much covers everything

rifle wise I guess maybe a semi auto, green framed Steyr Aug like Don had in out where the busses dont run and the bad guy in die hard had

http://www.imfdb.org/w/images/0/0b/MV-STEYR-2.png

and some sort of mean looking stock semi auto M4/Ar15 like gun, sort of like this Colt Sporter Carbine with a 16 inch barrel to prevent the bolt cracking problem the M4's have been noted for
http://www.imfdb.org/w/images/e/e4/Colt-Sporter-I-Carbine.jpg

http://www.imfdb.org/w/images/0/01/MV-COLT654-1.jpg

but only 2 and maybe switch out my side by side for a nicer one with nice wood like a fox with a good sized hand guard for my big hands although I'm not really much of a shotgun guy and I only have one rifle so far a springfield 1903 a3 that I am very happy with and have no really need for anything else as I'm primarily a handgun only kinda guy.
