What gun have you had the longest?

Stevens model 15 single shot bolt action .22 rifle. Got it for Christmas when I was thirteen years old. When Christmas rolls around this year I will have owned it for sixty five years.

I’ve had my Winchester 190 for 50 years. It was my first gun. Dad bought it for me when I was 4. I’d follow him through the squirrel woods all morning then at lunch time I’d get to target shoot. A box of 50 didn’t last long.

First gun that was mine??

Remington 870 Wingmaster, standard weight 20 gauge, 26" vent rib IC. My Christmas gift in 1981, I was 15. Thanks dad!

First handgun was my 6" Model 66. Got it in 1989.

Still have both!

In my family you get a 10/22 when you turn 8 years old.
I was given my Ruger in 1974!
It still functions great and my guess it has 50,000 rounds easy.

I had to buy my own. April 1974. Traded a beat up old single shot Winchester and $40 for a brand new Deluxe model 10-22, 3 spare mags and 2 bricks of ammo!

My longest owned was bought new by me in 1970 (I think) when I worked at Sears in high school. A .22 Ted Williams Model 3T (made by Winchester). Used my 10% employee discount. :)

S&W M28-2 6” Highway Patrolman. My Dad gave it to me in 1976 after I got out of the Army. I put more rounds through that revolver than any other firearm I own and it still looks good. I still have its little brother too, my M36 Chief’s Special (the first firearm I bought). They will outlive me….

At the downtown store or the one on Poplar? You bought it two years prior to me being born, in Memphis!
The Big Store in East Memphis.
It was a Huge Store and a Distribution Center.

Mossberg 195 Bolt action shotgun. Bought it from my job after my junior year in high school. Was my deer gun for many years. $39.

The second was a Mauser 98 K that was a bringback from my Buddy's Uncle from WWII. Duffle cut. 20 bucks.

Still have both.

1982 Remington 700 ADL 30/06

I bought this brand new in 82. Dad built houses and if he bought three heating units from his supplier at the time, he could get a 870 12 gauge or a 700 in 30/06. He wasn’t into guns so I got to pick and I didn’t have a big game rifle so I went with the 700

Second place is my Citori Lightning in 16 gauge I bought in 1988 brand new.

1986 Berretta 92 F 9mm.

For a long time it was my only handgun and I was equally good
Shooting left or right handed. Seldom take it out anymore.
Sold my Remington 870 wingmaster 12 ga and S&W 29-2 44 mag.
Both were older. Wish I had them back.

I guess it would be the Marlin 39A, made in 1947, 10 years older than me, but was “mine to use” as long as I can remember. I think I was shooting it unsupervised since I was 9 or 10. Dad is gone now so it’s still mine. I promised it to Sarah. She’s 22, so if she loses interest it’s for my grandson Keegan. It’s still a very accurate rifle.
