Just like the title states, which gun oil do you guys use on your 15-22? I use Break free CLP for my cleaning and lubrication. Is Break free CLP just a cleaner or a lubricant too?

break free is both, as it was designed for military use that way.

i personally use birchwood casey polymer safe cleaner, and remoil with teflon to lube.

Ditto - on just about all guns. I do use Slide Glide on the slides of my semi-auto pistols.

Although my philosophy is oil on rotating parts and grease on sliding parts, I haven't (yet) tried Slide Guide on the bolts guides on the 15-22. It seems to me the fit is too loose to need the grease.

Smith & Wesson SW010 Synthetic-Safe Gun Cleaner with Cerflon and Hoppe's M-Pro 7 LPX Gun Oil

Good ol' Hoppes No. 9 to clean the barrel. Haven't had to do it yet on the 15-22, but I'll used Hoppes Copper Solvent for copper fouling.

Then I'll use Outers gun oil or CLP to lightly lubricate the barrel. I'll use a lighter oil, like RemOil, on a clean rag to wipe a light coat on the bolt & charging handle. I'll then use the rag to wipe out the upper receiver.

IMO, the lower really doesn't need much cleaning. When it does, I disassemble the fire control parts, wipe the parts clean, & wipe out the lower. Prior to reinstalling the fire control parts, I'll then put some RemOil on a rag and wipe them down.

Used to use CLP for everything, but now I use RemOil, for the sole reason that it was the only thing that was in stock when I last went. I am pretty pleased with it. I just give everything a quick spray before shooting, and then wipe it all down and spray again after. Works fantastically.

Just an observation: I would keep removal of the FCG to a minimum. It doesn't appear that the lower is "hard" enough to prevent eventually enlarging the trigger and hammer pin holes.

I used the exact same on mine have 0 issues gun shoots great.

After I broke in the M&P with about 1300 rounds and minor gun oil. I clean and lubed all my ARs with Tetra Lube. It makes clean up after applied easier to clean and it makes the parts water proof. I was sold when they had a Stainless Steel 1911 45 coated with this stuff and displayed in water, they just took it our of the water and the gun just beaded up the water and rolled off. I have both Tetra Lube and Tetra Grease. Stuff is great.

Note: I allow all my weapon a break in time for the metal to wear to mate with each other, some of my older weapons had more rounds thru it, but on the average it's been about 1500 to 2000 rds. of break in prior to using Tetra Lube. I find my weapons work better with a break in period. Just my opinion.

i wouldn't recommend regularly stripping of the fcg either. a can of compressed air to get the chunks and some qtips with your regular cleaner/oil should be fine to clean the lower.
