The Type-38 Arisaka with chrysanteaum still on it and the Officer's Samarai Sword my Dad brought home from WWII.
Every one had been sold at one time or another due to financial problems or paying the bills when I was recuperating from prostate surgery.

Thought about this a few days ago. Regret selling a full rail bull barrel Springfield TRP 1911 45acp. Sold it for a big profit and because it was not legal in USPSA SSTK or IDPA's CDP. Hindsight tells me I didn't shoot either class once since selling the TRP, anyway, and the profit I'd gladly give back to have the most perfect trigger any gunsmith has ever given me. I've parted ways with many a high-end 1911 the last 24 months and none of them - Les Baers, Springfield Professionals, Dan Wesson PM9 - made me think twice. But that bull barrel TRP does. Damn it!
I could buy another one but the principal and the thought of not having the same trigger makes me pause.
And maybe the 625JM should've stayed.

A Colt 6 inch Match Target Woodsman that I bought new in 1974 and foolishly sold in blind pursuit of S&W magnums.
A 4 screw model 16 that I bought in 2001 for 630 OTD. The gun was 98%, no box or papers. I bought it for trading stock/ to sell to fund other guns. This was b/4 I was educated by this Forum. I had no use for the gun because I don't particularly care for the caliber. I would only want it back now so I could sell it again or trade for an older 44 Special. I got a considerable sum at the time, or so I thought. I don't begrudge the buyer, a very nice gentleman who paid exactly what I asked. I understand the gun went into a collection and that's where it should be with such low production numbers. I did not shoot it.

there have been many, but my three biggest bone head sales were. 1- Unfired M-12, 2" round butt $125.00. 2- Colt Python 2 1/2" in excellent condition $250.00 this price included shipping out of state. 3- Browning H.P. "T" series in very good to excellent condition $135.00.

Model 60 (no dash). I sold it to help fund a trip to Africa. At least I can say I had the safari trip of a lifetime due in part to its sale.
I've sold or traded many guns over the years, but there are 4 that I would like to have back......all of these were either sold or part of a trade back the 80's ( I got smarter after that decade 
).
--Remington 1100 12ga. shotgun ( this was pristine and I foolishly sold it to a hunting buddy).
--Colt Diamondback 4inch .22cal that was part of trade. "Wow", at the time no one knew how the Diamondbacks would escalate in value.
--S&W 686 No-Dash 6inch barrel and patridge front sight ( this gun was veeeerrry accurate and I foolishly traded it for a Browning B-80 12ga. shotgun)... which brings me to the next one I should have kept.
--Browning B-80 12ga. shotgun with invector chokes...as mentioned above I got this gun in a trade that involved the S&W 686. I foolishly later traded this shotgun on something ( shows you how dumb a trade it was because I can't remember what I traded it for) .... should have kept the 686 and just bought the B-80 and then kept both of 'em!!!

29 with 6.5'' bbl, 686 with 4'' bbl,& Sig 229 in 40 S&W. I have since found replacements a 29-2 with 8 3/8''bbl, 686 with 2.5''bbl still miss the others though.
Well not too many and if you count S&W products even less. I suppose I should have kept a beater 27-2 6" and a 3in 36 but what I hve kind of been missing is a 2in model 632. It was not extremely accurate and I decided just to stick with .38spl snubs and 9mm snubs but it did kind of fill a niche and the extra shot was neat.

I'm not going to respond to this. It would take up too much band width and it's just too depressing! My only consolation is that I've gotten a little smarter as I've gotten older. I don't sell many these days and I buy a little more carefully too. (smile)

Only two I ever sold and will never sell another! (I did get a 66-3 3" plus some cash for the Python but should have kept the Python and bought the 3" 66 anyway.

An as new Outdoorsman with original box and flier so I could buy the great SBE II that malfunctions every now and then and hurts the heck out of my middle finger with the trigger guard on cold mornings firing 3.5" loads. Should have not listened to the hype and just used a pump. What a waste. At least I know it must have went to a good home.

Don't sell any guns anymore. All the dogrobbers try to lowball you and point out every little speck and flaw that they can use to lower the price.

An NYSP M520 (not the "L" frame abomination of the same number). I had it for about a year, and it went up 25%. Had to sell it to pay tuition during my second year of law school and first year of my first marriage. Should have kept the revolver and avoided her. I'll admit I was very tempted to shoot it, which I knew was probably not a good idea, but ... grrr.

Sold my Walther P-38 with a handmade wood grips back in 1975. Beautiful shooting pistol, probably the fastest and smoothest that I've ever had. Dumb move on my part.

Well, lemme see...
I sold my first 44 mag, a 1967 29-2 "S" s/n. It was a 6.5" model too.
Bought it back!
Later I sold a 25-7 that I hadn't bothered to shoot since I bought it new in 89. MISTAKE!
I bought it back too.
Then there's the 1989 Mini 30 with the .308 bore I sold off since it was "too small a round". D'oH! It's gone forever, but I found another just 500 units different according to s/n with a .308 bore and it was in a glass stock to boot! Real happy with the replacement. It shoots a 150g NBT accurately.
Not to forget the 6" 586 ND I bought new. Traded it back and forth with a friend. He went south and is no longer around, so I replaced that one with a 4" 586-1 which IMO balances and looks better. Besides, that old 6" 586 was a spitter, sent it to S&W and local gunsmiths, but it never got fixed, it always spit.

This is a good thread to read what with a gun show this weekend and always the temptation to take along whatever Smith is currently out of favor with me to see what price I can get for it.
It will help me think twice before parting with an old friend in exchange for a new item that I may later find out I really didn't need or want as badly as I thought at the time.
But the two I regret the most selling (or trading away) are two Model 10s, a 2" round butt and a 4" standard barrel.
If I can ever replace those two, all I'll need to buy from that point on is ammo!

Wisdom gained through old age has me following 2 gun rules:
1) buy 2 if possible - sell one NIB later and still have one.
2) if I've never seen one before, I try to buy it
My short list of still-to-acquire on my C&R consists of MG42 and Lahti 20mm. Those I wanna be buried with.
