What guns have you regreted selling?

I still have dreams (really nightmares) about the ones I sold and should have kept. There was a 4"28-2 (Nitex finish), a 6906, 681, and a 686.


I bought back the 686, bought another 6906, and then bought a 28-2 and sent it off to CCR for their CPII finish. So now I only have to find a 681 to replace the one I should have kept.
 
K-22 mint Outdoorsman with box and helpful hints....one of the most awesome I have seen.
27-2 3.5" with rosewood presentation grips.....forgot to pull the grips before I listed it.
Sold others, but they went to people that seemed to enjoy them more than myself.

Sometimes I've sold good guns without ever regretting it. For example, I've traded off a few Smiths that I liked, but usually for Smiths I liked better. For the most part, however, by the time I started buying S&W's, I'd already learned the lesson of not selling guns you like. I still occasionally do it, but not often.

Colt Combat Python 3". Bought in 1991 and sold in 1992. It was a nice looking gun, but not the greatest. The regret is purely financial. Who would have thought one of the Colt so-called factory custom offerings would fetch $7,000.00? Back then, any used Python was worth $400.00. I thought I was lucky to get $465.00 for it from a doctor in PA. Who would have guessed that Pythons would become so collectible, especially when there are literally hundreds of thousands of them? Also regret selling a super smooth and accurate 4" 27-2 and my early Combat Elite, which I had tuned up so well.

None yet. A lot of guns I passed on buying that I wished I did. I thought about selling my S&W model 19 4" 1978 good-great condition, that I might regret
 
I regretted selling my 65-5 a few years back. Then one day my buddy called me and asked me if I wanted to buy it back. It was at A pawn shop and he was about to lose it. So I bought it back for about half what I sold it for. Will never sell it again. Well I hope not.

The short list is the two that I didn't regret selling.
They were a Davis .380 (Piece of garbage, what was I thinking?) and a
Jennings .22. (Better than the Davis, but not much)
 
Wow, this is the saddest thread ever.

I wish I still had the Colt NM HB, but it's not like I shoot HighPower anymore. Still...

I also wish I still had the 627 J-frame, not because I liked it, or the trophy wife that I bought it for, (hated it), but for my pistol classes, to make a point about lightweight J-frames. That, and I don't have a J-frame anymore.

DON'T regret trading the XD40. Never took to that gun.
Heck, that's about all I've ever let go. Not bad I guess. Probably helped by the fact that I didn't start collecting guns until I wasn't in a position to need the money more than the guns. If I'd started buying guns when I was broke, had really undependable cars, etc, the story would be different.
 
not a handgun....1941 vintage Model 70 Winchester 30-06....all original....nicest wood i ever saw on a factory rifle....glass rod breaking trigger....sold it to fund a fishing trip....I am a moron

I don't think that is moronic. You traded a piece of wood and steel for an experience (hopefully a good one). If you had sold it to buy lottery tickets or beer, that would be different.
 
Sig210-6 with factory 22 conversion and target adj sights.
Bought it new about 20 yrs ago. Sold it after 10 yrs and made about a grand......... Forget why I needed the cash, but do miss the gun........
 
In 1969, bought a S&W Model 28 4" and a Remington shotgun for $100 as the guy wanted an outboard motor for his boat in the worst way. I sold the shotgun for $90 so I had only $10 in the S&W. A few years latter, on a whim, I sold the S&W and have regretted ever since.
