What Guns Were You Issued?

Can you tell us which agency used the .45 Glock? I know the Florida Highway patrol issued them and FDLE but that's about all.

Who notes the local Sheriff's office, St. Johns County, issues .40 Glocks in 3 sizes.

PA State Police had the .45 GAP for a brief time, maybe three years. They switched to the P227. I think NY State Police had the GAP also.

I carried my own pistol by preference on active duty

I was also once young and stupid.

On a couple of occasions I was tasked to provide guard for large sums of money at Ft. Knox. A couple of times, rather than draw a 1911 in .45 from the Arms Room I decided to carry my Series 70 in .38 Super. I hate to think of what the consequences would have been if I had ever had to use it.

.... There are no words to describe how positively vile the M73/M219 series machine guns were. The bean counter civilians that condemned a generation of tank crewman to the agonies of that awful gun should be relegated to the deepest pits of hell.

What's not to love about a 7.62mm machine gun that assembles it's bolt from pieces a thousand times a minute?

Who was a 45B20 / 45L30 in the ancient days of the M-60 tank.

Yes, I am old.
M1, M14, .45acp, Mi carbine. Sadly, I had to give them all back.

Issued a carbine (yes I put a switch in it) as I drove a deuce and a half shop van when I was the division armorer for the 1st Cav Div in Korea in 1959 but I kept a grease gun with several mags loaded in the cab, except when we were doing IG inspections, too much brass around. I could build anything I wanted as I had replacement receivers in inventory for everything from 1911's up to 50 cal Brownings. I usually worked late into the night before driving back to our compound (27th Ordnance Bn.) and you never knew. Later on issued an M1 in Germany.
