What happened in NYC? Influencers Promotion gone wrong

Twitch is a video gaming streaming service that made $2.8 billion in revenue last year.

Seems lots of people pay to be influenced.

Never heard of this person until now. Did a simple search, videos of the event, good grief!

What a waste, so many people with nothing better to do! Now to erase it from my mind!

Amazing that these social influencer's can make millions.

Yes I believe that he did. At least they showed him in the car with them as the "event" began. He also had lots of $100 gift cards. This person has a huge following and media consultants that manage him. He just had a bad idea. Or somebody in his team did.

That place is well known for having/facilitating a lot of bad ideas!

Tasers, nightsticks, handcuffs, paddy wagons and time on a chain gang..

Time to put a stop to this kind of behavior...

It was a gathering of young people, not a riot! things just break and burn when things are influenced...

"Influencer" = The ability to fleece the "Gullible and the "Ignorant" out of Their Parents money without recourse.

I've always liked the grand old term "hornswoggler" to describe a guy who makes his money by fleecing others. "Snake oil salesman" is another label that would apply.

Hmmm...if this Kai Cenet character does get charged with inciting a riot, maybe he could get his fans to send him money for his legal bills...

The NY AG's office is charging him with 2 counts of insighting a riot. IMO he did something that was not smart at all but really, insighting a riot???

People are responsible for their own actions, not the actions of others. By that logic every professional athlete is guilty. Well, the ones that have won a championship anyway.

The WKRP turkey drop

Yep, that was pretty hilarious the turkeys could not fly and they dropped them out of a news chopper.

The guy has literally millions of followers, and I think he knew that it would get a bit out of hand but didn't realize how stupid people will act for a free gift card or game console, then when the crowd mentality kicks in you have a riot, just like the one he instigated. This is no different than the organizer of a concert being responsible for what happens at the event.

as I understand it, he was trying to do something positive.
The unintended consequence was that his attempt gathered a volatile demographic that he could not control and likely had no idea he'd have any need to.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
