I bought S&W model 29-3 ( built 1988). Some my friends have said me, that the barrel without pin is not so good as pinned barrel. Barrel turns open , loosen etc... Is it true and is it possible to add the pin later?
I think I would have to go with a 696 with a larger/thicker forcing cone, a tritium front dot, and the solid rear sight like the Night Guard models. For me, quite possibly the perfect carry revolver.
How about a K Frame, 3-T's, 8-3/8" non-full lug barrel, in bright mirror polished blue with 3 interchangable cylinders (.32 Long, .32 Magnum, & .327 Magnum.
While they're at it, make me another one with a 6" barrel too.
I would ask for a 10MM L frame with 3" barrel with moon clips and in round butt configuration. Stainless steel, bead blasted with a medium heavy short lug barrel with a good set of rubber grips.
The 10 MM when properly loaded with 200 grain and heavier bullets is not that much less than a .41 Mg., so I would think that properly loaded, it would be adequate against anything up to and including black bear. And with less robust loads it is death delivered to bad guys.
I would guess that an L frame in a 3" 10MM would be south of 36oz in weight, so it should carry well.
