Trying to figure out a reasonable price for a 645. I have seen prices all across the spectrum of $300-$650. Can anyone give me an idea on what to offer for a 645 in good to very good condition? Don't want to pay too much but don't want to cheat the seller either.

Last year I purchased a new unfired old dealer stock 645 without any box or papers but with several new magazines for $500 OTD.

I had a Like new one that I couldnt give away here for a while....finally sold it locally for $400, to a friend of mine...a lot of local dealers have an aversion to Smith semi autos(especially 2nd gen) around here....it seems if they own them they apparently have a gold lining of some type....but if a regular guy has it, its most likely an unpolishable you know what.LOL hope it helps

I have a LNIB I'd sell for $500.

Sounds like the 645 hasn't gone up a whole lot in value. I paid $470 plus tax for my fixed-sight 645 when it was brand-new in 1988. That seems to be about what it's worth now, except of course the dollar is worth less.

BTW, folks take the availability of S&W .45 autos pretty much for granted now, it seems to me. But the 645 was a major event when it first came out. A piece of S&W history. Good gun, too.
