what is an "old school pinned sear"??

S&W is advertising this on some of their newer revolvers and for the life of me I can't figure out what they mean. Can I get some help here.....

In this thread there are pics of both style, The pinned has a pin & the MIM just fits together somehow..
Look at the hammers & the DA Sears on each.
Smith must have found a way to use up some extra hammers in there inventory.. The Pic I linked is a K/L frame & the hammer 500MN shows is a J Frame Centennial..
