papa,
It appears to be a prewar Outdoorsman's Revolver.
Can't do much of an 'appraisal' from the one photo.
If I were you, I'd certainly buy it, as the condition appears very nice.
Don

As said, it's hard to do an apprasial on one picture, but if it is truely 95% original I would expect to see a price tag of $600 to $700 on it. Maybe more is some markets. Depends on regional values.

If it's a K-22 Outdoorsman from 1935, SCSW III says 600 for VG and 1000 for Exc. I wouldn't buy this if I were looking for something to shoot, because it looks to be too valuable. My two cents. -Donald

The seller could get his 800.00 on Gunbroker or Auctionarms, the price is not off base for what I've seen them go for on the auction sites.Do you want to shoot or collect?

95% condition, 800.00 is not a bad price. How bad do you want it? It will hold and or increase its value over time.Wow , spending someone elses money is easier then I thought

Don't forget to ask the seller: For that price you have the box right?

Well, I bit. Got him down in price a little, but not much. I'll post some pics when I get it and get it cleaned up. Anyone have a box for it they want to throw away?????

Anybody notice that hammer ? Particularly the end of the tang ? Does that look right
to everyone ?

It appears to me that the end has been ground off, or something happened to it.

Is this just another photo characteristic that I do not understand ?

I had a model 10 that had been dropped at some time in its life and landed on the hammer and broke the tip off. It was ground cleanly like Lonnie's [IMO]

Good snag Lonnie

Can I find a replacement hammer and if so, at what cost? I have a three day inspection, no questions asked, return policy with it. How much value is lost?
Thanks guys, I just don't know much about these pre-wars.......

Lonnie

How much under $800 did you get it for?
The gun looks to be real nice except for the hammer spur. Numrich lists K-22 hammers (different from M17 hammers) at around $55.00.
However I don't know if these are the same as pre-war K22's. Plus the hammer isn't always just a "drop-in" part. Hopefully someone here will have some suggestions.
