What Is It ?

Well,
I would do that if I owned it as it's of no use, value, or interest to me, but it's not mine, I was only trying to help a friend get some info for the guy that owns it and add to the S&W info on this forum. Sooner or later maybe someone will figure out what it is and hopefully let us all know.

Don't worry, it was not a serious sugestion.
Although i'm curious to what it might be for.

Just looked....

My relatively new M&P40C doesn't have the "characteristic" ampersand.... The bottom loop is a tad chubby, but not so you'd really notice unless you were looking for the one we're expecting.

I don't have another S&W upstairs except my Full Size, so I can't say "everything"....

Still no help on identifying that gadget. It does resemble some bicycle gear stuff I've seen, but I know a lot more about guns if you don't count changing a tire or two :D....

Regards,

Just for fun, I found my CS45 and checked it - about ten years old, I think, with a "standard" ampersand, not the "odd" one that my old S&W Revolvers use.

Regards,
