By which I mean, of a known serial Number?

As far as any of us here know about or have seen?

The first reference I have of a square butt K frame is as follows:
sn 29986, .38 Military & Police, 2nd Model of 1902, 38 S&W Special, shipped in 1903, Target model with a square butt.

Of course that does not mean there were no earlier ones out there, but gives an indication of an early ship date.

Wow...that is early!

I had not expected any to be that early on.

I have a M&P 1905 3rd change that is a square frame.

So...the early Square Butt Stocks, would have the scalloped or incurving top area, as did the Round Butt Stocks of that time..?

Yes they would. As would any stocks, round or square prior to c.1910. Then the gold plated recessed medallions were standard until c.1920.
