What is the lure of the Shield?

so, what is it that he didn't like about the XDs?

When packing concealed, he thought the XDs could be a little more comfortable. He claims his Shield is exactly what he was looking for in a CC weapon. The grip he explained just wasnt a comfortable grip and to him he couldnt get on target or stay on target well enough with it.

He also liked the fact that with the Shield .40 it was easily converted to 9mm. In this case if he couldnt find one caliber at the moment, he could possibly find the other. Plus he has tons of 9mm ammo due to some of his other weapons that he owns. So in the end the Shield works better in his favor for both carrying as well as just having a weapon capable of using his already bought ammo.

In my particular case, I fondled an M&P 22 at LGS, and bought it. Since I had Glocks, I found myself getting target acquisition more accurately with the 22 than I was my G26 and G19. So, I ended up trading the G19 Gen4 for an M&P 9 FS (which I LOVE), and now currently have my Gen 4 G26 up for sale locally to fund the Shield. Gotta keep it all Smith & Wesson now.

I agree with the common themes here. I have always said my favorite thing about the 39xx-series was that they were big and heavy enough for fun range time while being small and light enough for regular carry. I feel the Shield is an updated version of that. Not that it needed updating from our point of view, but as often noted, the new guns need to be plastic from the manufacturers point of view.
