They are all basically the same gun with different barrels. The gun with the best barrel and no problems is probably the best. Thats like asking which apple on a tree is the best apple. Why does everyone want to know what is "the" best? Sorry got a little carried away there!

Inherent accuracy, they are all the same.
Practical accuracy would go the those with a longer sight radius.
My club stages various fun matches where each time they present different challenges at differing ranges.
Usually use a 625 with an Ultradot.
For Saturday's match "no optics" is the word.
Tried several different pistols and revolvers and the old 14-2 gave me the best performance at 25 yards offhand.
There's a reason its called a "Target Masterpiece".

Chit Boyz you are all too good!!! I'd thought at least I'd start up a little ruskus. I didn't know they were actually THAT close. Of course considering all the above, I thought at least one apple would shake out of the tree of knowledge. "There can only be just One"
Thanks Men

Of the revolvers referenced, I would think a K-22/M-17 or M-18 would have the greatest potential for accurate on target results. I have fired enough S&W revolvers to know that except in a machine rest, a great deal of the on target results are entirely the result of the person doing the shooting.

Model 48-4 6" bought it new in 1980. Started this S&W thing.
Can't stop.

In my case a 17 8/8" with Eley target ammo, but then with most of my 8 3/8" S&W's , the problem is with the gunner not the gun.

Hey Brucev thanks for the imput. I have the M16,32 cal and Model 18 combat Masterpiece. K-22 1952. I wouldn't have thought the combat series would be as accurate.
I think some of the insainly good shooters it becomes instinct. Of course I can't see how they keep from dying from lead poisoning.

Mine sweep sailor USS ILLISSIVE MSO 448 EARLY 70'S anyone else out there.

My 70's era Mod 66, 4" stainless .357 is the most accurate revolver I have.:)

Come to think of it, its the ONLY revolver I have.:D But still deadly accurate.

The M-16, 18 and of course the K-22 have a well deserved reputation for accuracy. I've not ever fired a M-16, however I have shot a number of M-17's and 18's. Using quality ammunition and good marksmanship techniques on target results have always been excellent even superlative.

However, day in and day out in shooting .22 LR revolvers from 1983 to the current day, I have been extremely impresses with the results that I have obtained using the M-18. The M-18 that I currently own is a 18-3 that I bought used in about 2000. When purchased it had seen very little if any use. Since then there is no telling how many bricks of .22's have gone through that little revolver. It is wonderfully accurate with .22 LR ammunition from a variety of manufacturers. On one occasion lacking any other revolver with which to compete, I entered a handgun match at the local state prison where my wife was a nurse. As her husband I was allowed to enter. Firing double-action on a standard qualification course that little pistol produced a 242/250/42X score. One man on the tactical squad bested that score with 44X's. I would highly recommend this revolver to anyone who wants to learn to shoot a revolver in SA or DA. It is ideal for the field.

Well, I'm not that great of a shot with any of them. It seems though, that, now and then, my pre-17 feels sorry for me, and propels the bullet right to the center of the 10 ring. It's always a bit of a surprize, and I feel like taking a bow if anybody else happened to witness it.

I lucked into the Mp K-16,32cal. I have better results than the model 18 ,1952 Combat MP 4'' BBL maybe because it's older than my 3k 1972 and I just acquired the M18 K-22. Thanks for your imput.
