Got this from a neighbor who got it decades ago from a uncle. It is a cloth bag with S&W on the front and a pic of a 29 on the back. Anyone seen one?

Something that I'd like to own...merely because it has a S&W logo on it?

It is a heavy duty cloth with a drawstring. Here is the back if that helps anyone. I have never seen or even heard of this. It appears to be very well made, double stitched on the sides, and the pic and logo appear to be to factory specs. The width is a bit small at 8" but the length is too long at 16" if it was made to transport guns around a range.

It's a gun sock.
Oil your 29 up - put it in the sock - put them in the safe.

Looks like one of the K-Frame Target Masterpieces on the back unless my eyes are playing tricks on me.

I thought someone would have seen one. The logo is factory correct. Wonder if I can get it 'lettered?':p:p:p

It must be a money bag. If you filled it with one dollar bills, you could trade it for the pictured firearm?

It certainly isn't a Model 29. But I think it is for holding all of your S&W prop-rods!

Is the material kind of slick? It could be silicone impregnated, and intended as a storage bag. I've never seen one up close and personal. And it does look like a target Kframe on the back......maybe part of a range box/bag set? Looks like diamond stocks, so it would be an old one!

MAY have a hint. The cable guy was here today, AGAIN,, and I had the bag laying out. He said it looked like a old bank deposit bag.

Stumped?

Howdy,
I have never seen this group stumped before. Makes me think it may not be S&W stuff but something someone made.
Cool bag none the less.
Thanks and I hope it gets solved.
Mike
