I just picked this up today and i have no idea what model it is. The serial number on the bottom of handle has a C all the way to the left and then numbers all the way to the right and they are 345879. Stamped on the crane(i guess thats what its called)is a big number S then under that there is the number 94 followed by a space and then another 2 digit number 48. Under the 2 sets of numbers is a small 3. its hard to see in the pictures sorry. If you know anything about this pistols model number, date of birth and price range i would appreciate it.. thanks....Josh

Welcome to the Forum.
Appears to be 1955 K frame (pre mod 10) 38 special.

It also has too large of grips on it. Those are N frame magnas. Your gun sould have K frame PC diamond magnas

It is an M&P (Military & Police) revolver. This gun would later become the M10. The grips are much later than the gun, witness the horrible fit. Proper grips (Magna grips) would have diamonds around the screw).

Neat old gun.

Price range is probably in the $150-250 range in the condition it appears to be in.

Welcome! That's a neat old M&P. Take your time, clean that old .38 up, and you'll have a classic snubbie. I have one very much like it and it shoots like a laser (at 25 ft., anyway). Enjoy!

Jerry

Thanks for the help guys. The gun really belongs to my friend and he wants to sell it. i told him i could put it on the forum for him but i think he wants to sell it local but im not sure. we didnt even know what it was. do you think i should post it on here???

Your friend needs to join then he can post them in the classifieds as wanting to sell. You will have to get a person involved on both ends that has an ffl so he might be better off selling it local. Also honestly 250 might be a little high. Hope this helps. Larry

Cool little piece. I'm always telling myself to buy a snubbie K-frame, but I always seem to miss the opportunities or have the opportunity and don't have the option to buy. Anyway, thanks for posting and good luck to you and your friend!

If he's looking to sell it locally, let me know. I sent you an email.
