Renegade....much more concealable than a molded rig....very comfy...and only around 50 bucks.

Galco Ankle Glove has always worked great for me.

+1 for the glove, when it comes down to ankle rigs the only thing I ever hear anything about are the Renegade and the Ankle Glove. I can't see going wrong with either, I wear the glove.

Cheers,
Sam

Maybe I can help you out here if you are deciding between the two...the Glove is an excellent holster....very comfy band as is the Renegade...my partner uses one....the main difference is the Galco uses a stiff molded holster...no retention device but it holds the gun in nice and snug...the strap on the renegade is a pull thru design so you don't have to unsnap to draw....the only reason I went with the Renegade over the Galco is that I wear straight leg jeans most of the time and the unmolded pouch makes it a little easier to conceal under them. Pricewise, the Renegade is about 25 bucks cheaper...:)

Sip, you can get the glove with a retention strap. They offer two models, the one you discribe with the retention screw and one with the retention strap over the backstrap. This allows all variants of J Frames to be used in the same holster. I carry a 60 and 640 in the same holster.

Cheers,
Sam

I carry a BUG on my ankle every day. Either on duty or off. My first ankle holster was for my Glock 27. I went with the Galco. When I bought my mod 60 I decided that a old school revolver needed some old school leather. I had also noticed the ankle holster my chief carries his Colt in every day, after finding out it was a Bianchi model 12 I found a lnib one on ebay for $35 and I must say I really like it. So if the fact that it does not have a covered trigger guard doesn't bother you I would definatley also recommend that.

Renegade, like Sip's. I've tried models from most other major makers, including some very expensive ones, and no one else comes close in comfort and concealability.

I've been wearing my 642 in a Renegade (with the elastic pull-through retention strap) every day on duty for over 13 years. I'm on roughly my 4th holster as the elastic gives up after several years of being stretched over a boot. I also wear it off-duty most of the time. These holsters are secure, comfortable, affordable, and quick to deploy. I unconditionally recommend them for revolver carry.

As a side note, I have mine slightly customized by the manufacturer. I have a little extra hook/loop added so it will securely fasten around both a bare ankle and a duty boot.
