What is your game?

I started shooting IDPA last fall and have done three club matches. For IDPA, I use a Glock G17 in SSP (sorry folks). I'm thinking of trying SSR next year.

I have been shooting IDPA for four years and shoot two or three matches every month.
Mostly I shoot SSR with a 4" 686 or a 2 1/2" 66.

I have classified as a Sharpshooter in CDP with both a 1911 and a Glock 21.
I am also SS in SSP and I just started shooting a Springfield XDM in ESP a little too.

For years I shot a lot of IDPA and USPSA with only two guns, a 4" 625 and a Glock 21. I classified SSR MA back in the days of moonclips and 125 PF and now they tell me that MA is also good for the new SSR speedloader division, even though I never shot much with speedloader guns. When I diversified to the autos I bought a used Glock 21 and kept it stock. I shot all the IDPA divisions and USPSA Limited, Limited 10 and Production with one load at 165 PF and managed EX in all IDPA divisions and B Class in all USPSA iron sight divisions. I do not own any "match only" guns and compete only with my carry guns. I'm classified an A shooter in the Steel League (with Glocks until my 627 will be up and running) and though I shoot ICORE I have never been formally classified.

My carry guns these days are a 625 Mountain Gun and 625 with 3" barrel. Competing with them in high round count matches is downright brutal at 165 PF using wood boot grips and JM stocks. From now on most of my competition with be with a pair of Model 64s, one with a 4" barrel and a soon to be acquired "twin" with a 2" barrel. They will be cheaper to shoot and easier on the hands and challenging just the same.

Bullseye. I shot the first revolver match at Perry a few years ago. I did lousy, but had fun. I've gotten quite a bit better shooting double-action with a revolver since then.

Been shooting Cowboy Action for the past 10 yrs. I shoot Frontiersmen mainly which means cap & ball pistols. Just started IDPA last August and like my model 10 for that, but bought a model 65 that will probably take center stage now.

Have been shooting bullseye for the past 15 years. However the area I moved to in Nevada dose not have any matches in that discipline, so I think I will check out the local IPSIC matches this Spring. Got to find an excuse to go shooting.

Over the last 40+ years I have done most of it. High Power and Small Bore rifle, IHMSA Metallic Silhouette, NRA Silhouette, IPSC, PPC, Bullseye, Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays. Now my knee's aren't so good anymore so I don't do any of the ones where you have to get up and down or move quickly. That pretty much leaves bullseye, Trap & skeet.

We just finished our winter bullseye league, I've been the secretary/match director for the past 25+ years. As usual I finished a little above middle of the pack. Winter skeet league is over, and Trap will be starting in May.

The most challenging match shooting is the "Masters International Shooting Championship". It's now in it's 25th year, and still shot the first week of August. The Masters is a 3 gun match; Precision, Action, and Long Range. The Precision is 45 Biathlon targets at 25 meters and 50 meters with 4.5" and 1.77" targets, shot under varying time frames. The Action is 45 steel reactive targets between 6" and 12" shot at distances of about 15 to 25 yards. 5 targets per run, and 9 runs. Score is the total "Time". Long Range is 45 steel targets shot at distances of between 100 and 200 meters. Shot under varying time frames in both freestyle and standing positions.

Doug Koenig has won the match the last 7 or 8 years. If any of you want to try a really challenging (but fun) match, this is it.

This match was originally designed and developed by S&W; Roy Jinks, Tommy Campbell, and writer Dick Metcalf designed the match and our club built the range where it is held. This is the match where Jerry Miculek was discovered and offered a spot on the S&W shooting Team.

While there you can eat lunch in "Smith & Wesson Hall". Our club house that S&W donated 1/3 of the cost to build, so we named it for them.

If anyone is interested, contact me and I can get you in contact with the match directors.

Lessee...a G19 for USPSA, a 627 & a GP100for ICORE, and the plan is to use my 4" model 17 for Steel Challenge rimfire.

I started shooting static steel plates about 3 or 4 years ago, then added a few USPSA matches, and tried IDPA last year. I try to shoot 2 to 3 matches a week.

Been shooting smallbore and high power long range rifle for over 25 yrs, till I'm getting tire of lugging all those equipments around, now I mostly shooting bullseye handguns match, just 1 gun box! Active in the local bullseye winter league and shoot some outdoor match in the warmer months, still run the winter smallbore rifle match and shoot in the smallbore rifle and air pistol indoor winter league, I guess once you become a competitive shooter there just no turning back.

I've shot USPSA, PPC, bowling pin, IDPA, IPSC, NRA high power rifle, 3 gun, skeet, trap, sporting clays, five stand, & steel plates.

I mainly shoot just IDPA now.

I shoot skeet. Sometimes I like to show off and see how close I can get without breaking them...
