What is your most treasured firearm?

Tough call, but I think it would have to be my 5 1/2" Single Action Army .45. My Mom bought two of them, one for my brother and one for me, with the minimal inheritance she received after her dad passed away. She gave them to us at Christmas many years ago, and my brother cried when he got his. I came close to tears, myself.

I have to site 2 as being equal.

The first is a nickel .38 Safety Hammerless that letters as being shipped in 1902 and it's in INCREDIBLE condition. Given to me by my dear, dear bud known as Belfastman on these here boards. I told him I'm just babysittin' it until he figures out what he's done.

The second is a 1948 vintage 12 ga. Ithaca M-37 given to me by a cousin who's more like a brother.

I'm indeed a fortunate man to be so rich in the area of the quality of chosen friends.

Easy choice for me. My Great Grandpa's Marlin Model 1889 lever action .38-40 (.38 WCF) rifle. He bought it new in 1892 and pasted it on to my Grandpa in 1946 and my Granpa pasted it on to my Mother's brother in 1968.

My Uncle died in 1999 and my Aunt called me on the phone the next day after the funeral and told me that my Uncle wanted me to have all his old guns. She said if I wanted them to come and pick them up. I had just left the funeral the day before and driven back to Alabama but I was almost back in Jackson that day before she hung the phone up.
