What is your preferred "De-Lockification" technique?

Guys, its easy to pull the Flag out, then slide the spring back which holds the IL in & replace it with one of John's IL Plugs. He has it down pat for J, K, L, & N frame revolvers. The plug is professionally made & fits perfect. It won't fall out when the IL is fitted in there properly. Please search on this forum as well as the Accessories for Sale forum for John's Plugs. All the best

I can't stand when people can't control themselves and stay off someone elses thread

. This thread was started by a guy that had a justifiable question. You guys that crapped all over it should be ashamed of yourselves.

So what's your point???

OK, I think I have read most of the lock threads on here and now know there are a couple ways to get around the IL.

1- Remove it entirely fill hole with plug

2- Remove the flag and spring

3- Grind off the nub and leave all the parts in place but effectively disable the lock

Option 3 appeals to me because it gets the lock disabled and leaves the gun with no extra holes. And the flag fills the gap by the hammer. Can someone tell me if this is the nub that needs to be ground off the flag? I am sure this might be obvious but I have not attempted to take the gun apart and I only want to do it once. So would rather know exactly what I need to do before I do it.
