what mags work in 457D

It would be helpful to know what gun you really have! There is no S&W Model 4570 pistol

The seven round magazines that work in the 4516/4513TSW/4553 will all work.

Just be forewarned that they are fairly rare and pretty expensive. There are very few new ones out there. If you buy a used one, replace the springs.

Nice pick up. That's a very rare variation of the 457.

alk8944 ,my mistake it is a 457D
eye site is BAD.

Hi, Walter!

As Gary says, the 7 round mags for the 457, 4516, 4513TSW fit your 457.

You can also use the full size .45, 8 round mags for the 4506, 4566, 4586, although they will stick out the bottom of your 457.

That is too funny. Being us gun nuts know what a 4570 is and S&W didn't make one, it was really confusing when you said it was 4570. Now that you say it is a 457D, I can so see how that mistake was made. :) We so overlooked that.:D

Be aware that the 6-ROUND 4513TSW mags will not work, nor will CS45 mags.

If the mag has 5 holes in the side, no.

6 holes, yes.

Would love to see a pic of your M457D.
Is this a Chicago PD gun by chance??

Here's a pic of one I had in my collection some years ago.

Thanks in advance.... :)

For the record: full size 4500 mags will work also. They just protrude from the grip. But they work just fine.
I went so far as to make a sleeve for them and carry them as a spare mag when carrying a compact 4500.

I was using a 4506 mag without any kind of sleeve. My reloads I slammed in hard and after a while found that the lips were hitting against the ejector when it finally stuck there.
A now use a piece of rolled up bicycle tube to keep it from inserting too far.
