Yeah the full tang like that rules out #1. The #16 Special Fighter had basically a #14 grind. I am going with #14 with a #1 grind

Nice snag old friend. That's a 16 special fighter , 7" SS blade , nickel silver hilt, green micarta, border patrol handle , as other have stated. For an all around knife , that one would be hard to beat.

With those added photos, I concur: Model 16 Special Fighter.

But it's the first that I've seen without the usual Model 16 handle.

I wasn't exactly sure from the photos. I've seen nickel
Silver take on a yellowish tint over the years. It may very well be brass though.

I agree with those who said it's a model 16 special fighter. It's based on the model 16 dive knife. The full tang is considered an improvement by some and it is stronger for sure.

I'm on the fence. A model 1 with its stick tang is lighter and feels more lively.

If you option out a model 1 to be even close the the 16 sf you will spend a lot more $ on it. The down side of the 16 sf is a lack of options. Especially the blade length. But if you like it the way it is it's a real bargain.
