What should I pay 686 no dash

Well I struck a deal with the seller for $750, and very happy with the gun. The seller was a very nice guy, and it was nice to chat to a fellow enthusiast. It would be rude to post without any pictures, so here they are.

Now my other dilemma, do I leave it as is, or send it to S&W to get it fixed, and stamped with the M? If I send it, I take it, it needs to be shipped to my FFL dealer?

Call S&W. They will send you a free shipping label. There is no cost involved in getting the modification done. It's very worthwhile if you don't want the gun to lock up with .357 loads. There are numerous threads on the modification on this forum that will tell you everything you need to know about it.

Nice Pyth......err, 686.

I'm just yankin' yer chain. That's a nice 686.
I would have had a damned hard time walking away from that.

I used to hate L frames.
Now, I love them.

Oh, you got yourself a nice one, Congratulations!! There was a day when those could be purchased for $400 or so, but those days are long gone. Well done.

I think you did very well for yourself! I would much rather have that older model 686 than take a chance with one of the new ones. Nothing wrong with the new, but I would have bought the one you got myself..Ray
