Would like purchase pin gauges to check S&W 617 cylinder exit ports. What sizes do I want to determine ideal or go/no go?

Measure a .22 bullet of the size you are using, or different ones to get an average. You can measure loaded ones. You want on size to +.001.
I don't have any for 22's, but on my 45's, I have them up to .458", so I'd guess bore diameter, plus .005" in .001" should cover it.

I applaud your decision to use pin gauges. That's about the only way to get a true measurement, unless you have access to a Coordinate Measuring Machine.
People will tell you to use telescoping gauges and such but that won't give you a true cylindrical measurement.

The reason I ask is because my Manson cylinder finish reamer has a .2235 pilot that is snug in "some cylinder ports" (617-10 shot) but will not seat in one of the ten ports.
All ports cleaned up and ejection is 100%, really nice. Always felt one cylinder has accuracy problems, if so, I know which one it is.
Maybe a exit port reamer is something to think about.

In that case, I would make them all .224.
I need to do something like this to my 617. I get a lot of stuck casings.
