Personaly I LOVE my MOE stock by magpul, its around 64 bucks if that much. ALOT of people here will tell you to get the CTR version of the MOE stock, as it has a seperate lock that prevents a SLIGHT amount of wiggle, but to me the extra 30-35 dollars is not worth it. As the wiggle is VERY minimal in my rifle at least.( may be diferent to others, but I have 2 MOE stocks, one on this 15 22 one on one of my .223 AR's and they barely move) Dont get me wrong its a very good stock. But at least to me. I couldnt justify the extra cash to just see a slight difference in the "play" on the tube from the regular MOE stock. Heres a few pics of it on my 15 22. Remember to buy a MIL SPEC stock and NOT a commercial.

Also here is a pic of the CTR stock, the only difference is the locking tab u see under the front of the stock, and a metal round( QD)sling mount in the CTR, instead of the usual running the sling threw the toe of the stock. Also this pic will show you the differences in the 2 kinds of stocks.

The best stock for the money is the original if it is taught, doesn't make noise, or slip. Spend on Functionality as opposed to looks. There are few out there that can provide actual benefit for additional cost. Spend the money on a nice sling, optic, or extra mags. If you have to get rid of the original get the moe so you won't break the bank with fruitless addons. Colored parts rarely match among different manufacturers so keep that in mind if you wanted tan/od/de etc. Just my .02c

There's always getting an airsoft replica to save on money. You can get a Vltor MOD/EMOD for around the same price as the MOE stock.

If you want a wide comb there are options for that as well. You can get a CAA saddle for the normal stock, SopMod stocks, Magpul ACS, Crane stocks, Vltor models, etc.

I've been debating swapping my MOE stock out for something with a wide comb, just haven't found the right deal yet.

I put a CTR on my rifle today (a real AR). I compared it to my friend's MOE and the CTR feels much better and much more solid when locked in. The MOE feels like a cheap replacement stock which it is, and the wiggle is not slight on the MOEs I have handled. The CTR fixes all that.

Stock choice is all about personal preference. I like the OE stock, but it was too short for my preference and was hence replaced by an ACS (wide comb, storage space, and about 2-2.5 inches longer with the extended butt pad). I also like the CAA saddle for the original stock or the VLTOR Mod stock.

Is the magpul stock longer? Any advantage other then looks. Sorry I searched and searched

It's very close to the stock size but +1 to DownRange&Upwind's post... The fit and finish just feels better much better to me than the stock stock(you know what I mean lol). As for "wiggle"? Honestly if it was any tighter I don't think it would move.

I especially like the smaller position release lever that's contained inside the right triangle of the stock as well. For me the magpul MOE stock is the only one to look at unless you want an adjustable cheek-rest.

Also recommend the mappul MOE or MIAD grip...just make sure you get the grip wedge.

US-made Vltor iMod (there are Chinese knock-offs out there) works better for me than the OE stock setting up a sight picture from my EOTech Holosight. It already has a butt pad on it. I didn't get a Magpul PTS/Airsoft stock 'cause I'll use it every time I shoot my rifle. However, I'm only going to use my Magpul MBUS set-up when the batteries poop out (hopefully never if I remember to change them!) . . .

Got the Vltor iMod off of eB*y for about the same as a US-made Magpul CTR. No wiggle at all and great cheek weld (for my chubby cheeks). Highly recommended.

GO PATS!

The MOE stock is just a base replacement stock. Mostly looks, but the adjustment button is somewhat protected, compared to the factory stock, and less likely to be bumped causing your stock to be moved accidently after you have it adjusted to your liking. Especially if you have the kids out shooting with it.

As for length, I think you can add a base plate or something to lengthen the stock out a little if you want, however does not seem like that much difference in length to me.
