Anyone know what the thread size is on the rear sight blade adjusting screw? The one that you break when changing sight blades...

TIA!

80 turns in a inch. Outside Diameter measures .097 inch

So it's a 3-80

Gun screws are weird screws. Don't ask me to make this thread!

Thanks! There's a guy over at the Cost Boolits forum looking to make some aperture type rear blades to fit S&W revolvers and he was asking. I'll pass the word.

Man that's a small screw. I can't see using a tap to get it. You'd break off 3 for every hole that came good. Maybe S&W forges the threads in?

You can tell the guy that if he thinks he is capable of making the blades he should also have capable of determining the thread size and pitch on his own instead of having to ask!

What's the problem with helping someone out?
I'm sure the guy on the other Forum will appreciate the answer.

Please let me offer you a smiley face for your troubling day - I hope things turn around for you :)

He's already made a few blades but is cannibalizing a S&W blade for the threaded portion of each one. I appreciate your valuable input. Thanks!:)
