I'm not so sure about that. And I can tell you every single person I know who already has an AR has been buying the hell out of mags this week. Magpul Pmags went from $8/ea to $75/ea in some places virtually within a 2 day period.
Pretty much every single AR in my town has been sold too.
It's absolutely disgraceful how gun stores have reacted to this event in terms of pricing.
So, if you already own say.... a low priced AR rifle- let's say you own a Smith and Wesson Sport (Mods, mail me my shameless plug royalty check anytime

Well, all of a sudden, they are looking into a situation where they might be waiting 10 years for a ban to be repealed.... again... and they do not want to be in that situation.Magazines are like packs of smokes in the joint; they would be traded for peanut butter sandwiches and beers if it came down to it. Like any wear and tear item, one would expect to keep some spaes for the long haul, due to loss, theft, and damage as well as just wearing out.
I have several pistol magazines for each pistol I own. I don't like to take a lot of time at the range reloading every 2 minutes, and yes, I have goofed and put a magazine into a pistol, reached forward, taken a shot and had that mag fall out, hit the floor, and smash a feed lip and the mag never worked right again.

I am not 'happy' with the gouging, but then again....... I AM looking at my options. I could cover a down for some property next to Grover if I lighten my load a bit.
I am still buying, but not at inflated prices. I pay what I am willing to pay, and will wait 2 months for the brown truck to pull up to my front door. To me??? That's worth a $12.99 magazine.
When people were unloading surplus they had, I was there going shooting for a lot less than if I was panic buying.
I am going to put a call in on some ammo- from what I gather, I can get it for my last going price- but I have to be willing to settle for about half of my usual load out.
Those willing to buy xm855 for $300 per can?? Well, they never thought to buy any when it was a buck forty.
Ammo and mags are being bought primarily by frequent shooters who want enough to hold them over for a while, mixed with new entries to shooting/ those truly willing to 'Opt-in'.
But overpriced rifles, being bought for retarded high prices???? Those who are already in the game don't need to do that, plain and simple.
