What to buy browning hi power vs. 686 vs. G19

I have shot Glocks in 9mm and the Browning Hi Power for many years. I carry Glocks every day; they are a good reliable tool. That being said I also have a HP that I treasure, and I find the HP very nostalgic. For self-defense, at home or CCW, I will take the Glock. I find the Glock less finicky, especially with some of the good self-defense loads; my Glocks have been totally reliably with whatever they were feed. Additionally, I like the internal safety systems of the Glock, and the lack of needing a thumb safety; I seem to get shots downrange and on target faster with a Glock, but I do admit I shoot Glocks much more than the HP.

For Home defense, I like a Glock with a rail to mount a light—very useful for self-defense.

I like your idea of the J frame purchase too, as during the hot summer months; I am usually carrying an airweight J frame in the front pocket of my shorts. As far as training goes, a J frame and Glock are very compatible; that is, no manual safeties to activate.
