1968 Chevrolet Chevelle with a 307 V8, power steering and AC! Bought it just before my daughter was born...was making about $3.75 an hour as a electronic tech. 1st new car and 1st one with a payment book. Paid it off in 2 years.

My first new car was a 1968 Dodge Dart 270 2 dr hardtop. 273c.i. V8, 4 speed, bench seats & black vinyl roof. It got me through my last two years of my USAF enlistment.

Underpowered but a nice car for about $2400.00.

'73 Pinto Squire Wagon, 2.0L Engine, A/C. Literally drove it off the showroom floor. Couldn't get out of its own way. Three alternators in 20k miles. Not only a dog, but a mangy dog.

The engine should have been more than powerful enough. However, the emissions systems were fairly new, so the engine could never get enough air.

My first brand new car was a 1985 Pontiac Fiero GT, which, for 1985, was a pretty darn good ride. It was sporty and fast-ish and a ton of fun to drive.

Mine was a 1985 Monte Carlo SS. Still have it with over 235,000 miles on the clock. Got 195,000 miles out of the original powertrain and it still ran fine with the exception of using a bit of oil. Now it has a GMPP HT383 with 345 hp and is rather "peppy".

1977 full-size Dodge D-100 pickup with the "6100 GVW Heavy-Duty Package". Basically, it was a D-150 before they made a D-150. 225 Slant Six, three-on-the-tree, AM radio. Paid about $4,000.00 for it and had a four year bank note.

1969 Ford half ton 4wd pickup, 360 engine, 4 speed, manual drum brakes (4) and no power steering. $2712 out the door.

1967 Galaxy coupe in Sebring Silver with a black vynl top and black vynl gut-390. very nice car-$2850.00 Still have the only 2 other new vehicles I have owned to date: a 1980 F-150 short wheelbase-short bed-step side, and a 1994 T-Bird LX with a 4.6 V-8

1978 Ford Thunderbird. Dark blue, white top, white interior. Stickered for $7,059.00.

Biggest piece of **** I ever owned. It was another 20 years before I would own ANY Ford.

79 Chevy Suburban 3/4 ton, 350, 4 BBL, Posi rear, 4 speed, cold weather package and a bunch of other special stuff ordered by a guy who did not take it. It sat at the dealer for 2 years, bought it under loan value.

It was like a tank and could go anywhere.

I loved it, dark emerald green with metal flake factory paint. On a good day it got 6 MPG, down hill. After the 3rd child I sold it and bought something family oriented. Oddly I sold it for more than I paid for it.

My first brand new car was a 1965 Ford Mustang, six cylinder, three
speed stick shift on the floor. A very basic little car with great, for that
time, gas mileage. My first brand new bike was a 1972 HD XLCH kick
start only Sportster. I learned a few lessons from that bike.
