I traded some cash and a 303 jungle carbine for a blue, 4" model 25-5 (.45 Colt) at a gunshow while in college in the 80s. Back then, the available ammo wasn't known as 'cowboy action' loads, but was essentially that. Later, some Silvertips became available, but that thing never shot better than 4" groups at 50 ft. I wasn't familiar with chamber throats back then … and now I stick to 44s or 45ACP, which are consistent in S&W revolvers.
