What weapon light have you mounted on your 3.6" M&P 2.0 compact?

Hi, all. I currently own a TLR 1. I have owned it for several years and have been happy with it. It is curfrently mounted on my 4" M&P 9mm compact M2.0. As I mentioned in another post, this light will not fit on the shorter-barreled 3.6" version of the same pistol. This has been verified by another forum member.
So I'm looking at a different Streamlight which will fit the 3.6" pistol. The two most likely candidates are the Streamlights TLR 3 and TLR 7.
I have read reviews on the various Streamlight models.

Streamlight sales told me that the TLR 3 will fit the 3.6" compact, but that the TLR 7 will not. That is disappointing because the TLR 3 will be discontinued soon due to cracking issues some customers have had.

So I'd like to find out what weapon lights you all are mounting on your 3.6" guns and how you like them.
Thanks!

Well after doing some online searches, I found a photo of the TLR 7 mounted on a 4" M&P Compact 2.0 It is mounted in the middle slot, which indicates that it would also fit the 3.6" version.
I have ordered one.

I personally do not want a weapon mounted light. So my choice is none kf the above.

I think a gun should remain a gun. And a flashlight should remain a flashlight.

When you mount a light on a gun, sooner or later you will use, or at least be extremely tempted, to use the gun as a flashlight because it is there! And there you are, pointing a presumably loaded weapon around the house when all you wanted is a light.

Just my personal preference.

I have two TLR-3s (long story). Streamlight has a lifetime warranty. If one cracks because I over tighten it, I'll send it in and use the other one. YMMV.

Have you checked out the Olight PL1 mini. It fits my 4" 2.0 Compact and my 3.8" XDm compact. And I really don't know if it will fit the 3.6", but the Olight folks might know.

After much Googling, I have found that the TLR 7 will fit both the 4" and 3.6" versions of M&P Compact 2.0.
Thanks for all the replies.

POSTSCRIPT: After buying the TLR7, I can see that although it will fit my 4" gun it will not fit the 3.6".

it seems to me that finding a holster for a pistol with a light mounted is next to impossible unless you light is one of the expensive ones. I may be wrong but I just purchased a Compact 9 2.0 3.6 and would like to have that option without having to buy a high end light. Any suggestions. Yea, I know, carry a flashlight!

Shooting Padre- KT Mech does kydex light holsters for $60-70 depending on options. Very fast turnaround

Has anyone got a TLR-7 or 8 and can actually confirm that they do work with the 3.6?

Thank you very much, KLR, just what I was looking for. My horizons are now expanded!

Happy to help. All will be well as long as:

1. You don't buy with a thumb break and decide to cut it off.
2. You can actually do #1 as long as you use a Dremel and fine sandpaper to make it look seamless.
3. You can actually do #1 and #2 as long as you leave enough material to cover the trigger when holstered.

Yep. Not that I would do #1 and #2 but not #3. That would be silly.

Sorry for this being my first post... yes IT DOES fit. I have the TLR 7 on my 3.6. If I could get an IWB for the combo I would be really happy.

You, Sir, are 100% correct.

I don’t remember sorry. I do remember it wasnt the one I thought it would be or I had to reverse it.

Which one of the rail mounting blocks did you use for the 3.6"?

The front-most 'slot', using the 1913-4 block. That puts the back of the light right against the top/front of the trigger guard. The light is as far back as it can go. As for the light itself, It's a great weapon light for the money. The strobe feature is nice, and constant/momentary option is also nice. I just wish it had forward pressure switches (like the Surefire X300 and others), and not located on the sides like these are. You can put forward pressure on them to activate the light modes, but they're so small. And a QD mount instead of one that you have to screw tighten.
