What Year Was My Model 19-4 made?

I have a older Nickel model 19-4 4" pinned barrel and wondering what year it was made in? And what years were the -4's produced. Serial number49KI36X. Thanks in advance for any help or info!

Prefix 49K would be from 1979. I seem to recall the 19-4 went from 1977 to '82 but many others will be along to correct me if not . Enjoy!

Thank you for the info! When did S&W drop the recessed cylinders and pinned barrels? Was it in about 1982?

I have the same model with a 43K serial number, the nickle shines like new. It came with the typical wood grips and Pachmayer "Bill Jordan" grips. I leave the Jordans on just because it looks and feels great in the hand.

I was curious about the same thing since I just traded a Ruger Redhawk for the exact same gun, but with 56K prefix.
