Whats my M&P 40c worth?

Bought the gun to carry, but its still to big. Its a Smith&Wesson M&P 40c. I have never fired it. Has zero shots through it. Three magazines. Two have the extended pinky finger groove on it. What is it worth? Whats the depreciation on a firearm?

It depends on where you are and the availability in your area. I've heard of new ones selling for $400 and I've heard of new ones selling for $500+.

If I were you, I'd advertise it here for what you paid for it and go from there.
 
I've got one for sale with an Apex Forward Set Sear for $520 and not a bite. When I bought it I had to call a 100 mile radius to find one. I think I paid $570 for the pistol (with tax) and the Apex FSS was over $160 (with shipping). I thought the price was low. Guess it's all about supply and demand.

I paid $564.99 for the hand gun, 42.99 for extra mag, and 7.875% sales tax. I dont think less than $500 is worth selling it. Not sure if I am on par or not.

Tax and paperwork fees can never be recouped. Neither will you get $43 for a mag. The 40C mags are becoming more available so, that price is a little high.

Offering it for $500 plus shipping should see it sell pretty quickly.
 
I wont ship it. I also wouldnt pay FFL or other fees to a new buyer. I plan to sell locally. $500 would be my bottom line

For us there is no paperwork fee. Just tax. I am not worried about recouping that.

First responders buy the 40c with three mags, no tax, and free shipping for $399, and there's usually some that sell them after they buy them, so that's gonna be some price competition for you.

You may find someone just dying to have it, but I wouldn't pay you more than $350 shipped, it's just not worth it to me.

Hope you don't wind up regretting selling your M&P40c.
It's a fantastic pistol and with the right IWB holster is not too big at all.
I'll never part with my M&P40c.
Serious firepower in a small but yet manageable package.
S&W got the compact .40 caliber right.
 
Its worth what a buyer is willing to pay. List it at whatever you want and keep dropping until it sells.

Most people don't like buying used guns at new prices. (doesn't matter if you haven't fired a shot, you aren't the retailer, therefore...used)

I just purchased my M&P40c last week from buds for $468 delivered, no tax, just a $10 FFL fee.
 
If it came with 3 mags new it was a Leo/Mil program pistol. Without night sights they are $398 plus tax, with night sights they are $455 plus tax new. If not a program pistol it would come with 2 mags
 
It would be ludicrous to give it away for half. Wouldnt be worth it. I would be ahead keeping it.
