Hate to sound stupid, but what's a R.M? (As soon as I hit "send" I'll figger it out).

What's Next?....

R.M. = Registered Magnum... they are the Pre-War Flagship Model from S&W and the first firearm chambered in .357.

They look like this...

It's not uncommon to see price tags on fine, select examples of these guns that resemble telephone numbers...

I would respectfully suggest that you need a couple of .22's.

A Model 17 ("K-22")....

Early...

Late....

Or maybe short...

...and a Model 34 ("Kitgun").

After that a .45 Revolver such as a 25-2....

... or a 625 Mountain Gun... (this one's a little gussied up with a forged lockworks upgrade and Eagle "Heritage" Stocks)...

Whatever you decide, the best part of collection building lies ahead of you... The Hunt!

Sebago, you're right! So I ran down to the 7/11 Slop Shop & Gun Emporium and picked up a nice K17 No Dash, and a 15-2, six pack of beer, some chips and a Slurpie. Life is good! See updated Photo Bucket.

You can spend a lifetime buying every Smith you find and not even come close to having "everything". There's people out there with 1,000's of S&W's and there's still stuff they can't find.

Just buy what you enjoy and not what someone tells you you're "supposed" to own. I don't worry about keeping minty, unfired guns sealed in their boxes so that someone else can enjoy them after I'm dead. Mechanical condition is more important to me, I've got thrashed looking Smiths that probably have less than 100 rounds through them.

RM = something I'll never own:eek:
