I went to a 4th of July party at RobO's house last night. I left Roxy outside on her dog run for a long time before I left. I didn't stay at Rob's too late because I didn't want to leave her alone. Everything seems OK. No accidents last night that I could find. She's eating and seems normal. I'm going to call my vet tomorrow though...

Good news Gordy! Maybe she had separation anxiety. Your wife being gone, and you leaving her in the vehicle when you went into the store. Let us know what the vet says.

Has she been fixed?
Sometimes an altered female will develope bladder control issues from a hormone problem. If so, it's easy to fix.
Likely it's either this or an infection. Like others have said it can be much more serious.
In the mean time, "Nature's Miracle" (You can buy it at most pet stores) is your friend.
Sure hope you buddy is OK.

I'll almost bet she has been spayed, many time older females, especially those that have been spayed, lose some control of their bladder. Several years ago we adopted a six year old mastiff, she was as sweet a dog as you could ever want. When she was a bit over nine we started noticing some pee spots, usually where she had been sitting. I took her to our vet and he told me this was very common, she would leak a bit when she strained getting up and put her on medication. After 8-9 months the problem got worse, the meds weren't working, and she kinda dribbled all the time, so we got her a diaper. She really didn't mind it, but had to wear the diaper whenever she was in the house, and since our dogs are inside dogs, she wore her diaper 90% of time until we had to put her down about a year later due to unrelated problems. It's kinda a PITA, but a problem that can easily be worked around to keep your girl part of the family.

A Roxy update...

I took my girl to our regular vet today. Explained the situation. Brought a urine sample (they told me to). They ran the tests...said the urine looked pretty normal...just a little bacteria...not a lot. They gave me anti-biotics (one pill a day) also some other medicine that could help if the problem is the onset of adult female dog "leakage"...one of those per day too.

So...in thirty days...I'll be out of the anti-biotics, but will have ten of the other pills left. I'm supposed to cut those down to one every two days until they're gone. After that, we'll see if the problem (leakage) still exists...if it does, she'll probably be taking those regularly to control it.

Like I said...I sure hope your buddy is OK.
My little girl (She's a Norwegian Elkhound) had the same problem. She is my best buddy. Kind of stupid how much you can Love a dog.

Glad to hear it, just remember, if the pills don't do it for her, the diapers do work great.

Funny story about this. When we first put Cleo in a diaper, it was a cloth doggie diaper, but since it was just leakage we used feminine sanitary napkins in it so the diaper didn't need to be washed daily, it worked great. Then when the leakage became greater we needed something that could absorb more than a sanitary napkin. My wife and I were at Walgreens looking for something that would work and I asked the stock boy, maybe 17, what we could use for a diaper for a really large dog, remember, this was for a mastiff, and he took me to the 'adult diapers,' we found some that would work, XL's, and went to the cashier to pay. My wife kept laughing and when we got outside I asked her what was so funny. She said, "didn't you see the look on that kids' face? He thought your dog story was complete BS and the diapers were for you."

Thanks LoadedRound. Yup, that's my boy. The picture is from probably a couple winters ago. He's 17 now and has shorter hair and is a little taller too.

Roxy looks about the same.

My dog had always been well house trained when she started peeing on the floor now and then. Took her to the vet and her little bladder was full of kidney stones. Literally a bag of rocks. Surgery fixed it, about $600 worth, but she's my baby. (even if she ain't worth spit!) Now she has a prescription diet.
