About seventy years ago there was an ice cream parlor a few blocks from my grandparents' home in Chattanooga. They sold a lemon ice cream--not sherbet, real ice cream--that was one of the best things I ever tasted. Never encountered anything like it since.
Nowadays I can't get real homemade peach ice cream made with fresh Elberta peaches; but I can get by nicely with a really good plain vanilla or butter pecan.
