Bore Scope

When I worked at Barnes Bullets years ago our engineer/gun/bullet guru had one that cost $750. It showed amazing things that one would not expect in a bore—things that really degraded performance. The most common was extreme fouling. The next most common was poor manufacturing. The least common was wear.

I always figured getting one was out of my reach for usefulness vs. cost. Some pre-Christmas research turned up this highly rated unit that will display on a laptop for about $60!

Thank you to my daughter and SIL for knowing exactly what I wanted and getting it for me. Wink.

My wife was the youngest daughter with only one other daughter older than she in her family. Their mother gave a nice engagement ring to the oldest daughter. My wife has always wanted that ring, and at times there's been friction between the two sisters over it. I decided to resolve that this Christmas. I bought a very similar ring and presented it to my wife but as if it was from her mother who died over 20 years ago. There were a lot of happy tears. Win-win.

Santa was a bummer for me this year, but my wife got exactly what she wanted.
First came a card, with a note saying look in the garage. A 18' Lund Alaskan was parked inside. Had Santa bothered to do a little checking, he would have known the 20' model would have been preferred.
Next came two matching packages, Cannon Mag 10 downriggers. Again, he failed miserably, because I prefer Big Jons.
Next package, another let down...a Humminbird HELIX7...I prefer Lowrance.
And to add insult to injury, four Scotty rod holders...I really need six.
Then it was my wife's turn. The look on her face, the child like excitement as she opened her present...A NEW VACCUME CLEANER! But that's not all, it gets better. AN EXTENSION CORD! So she can reach the entire house from one outlet.
So as usual, Santa gave her the gold mine, and I got the shaft.
Cheer up, Surly, things will get better. My heart bleeds for you, and You will be in my prayers.

I got a dual zone air fryer from the one who will benefit most from it and a new 2wt 7'6 Reddington Classic Trout (my favorite 5wt I've played with for the price), as well as a rice cooker from her parents. Hope she likes brookies and rice!

Racer X, sorry for your loss. I lost two relatives this year - the last ones physically close that I know of. Life goes on.

Beefed up my reloading supplies. 1,000 CCI Small Rifle Primers received, 500 Starline .44spl cases coming. Lifetime supply of each for me.

I received a typical assortment of the usual items, all appreciated and loved. I also received a modest sum of $$$$.

My clearly favorite over all is something I purchased with part of the money. Not the most expensive Item I received but something I've been Jonesing for for as far back as I can remember. I can't explain why I never got around to getting one because I've always been a knife guy. I have a dresser drawer full of knives. This will top the list as my favorite.

I'm talking about my Uncle Henry Old Timer 3-blade pocket knife. I'd post a pic or two but It is on order and should be here in a few days. I'm sure most of you know about it and some of you probably have one.

I would share a picture of mine but I'm quite sure I'd get more than just an infraction.

A t-shirt with some famous racecar drivers name on it followed by three letters.
