So how was your Yuletide ?

First Thanksgiving and Christmas without Mom. Some holiday doldrums but I am working through it. Had a nice talk with my sister in Colorado Springs today. We both have been down some. Key thing I keep telling myself is to not isolate.

I feel for you. This year was the first Thanksgiving and Christmas without both my aunt and uncle who lived 4 blocks from me. At least I was able to have Thanksgiving outside Pittsburgh with my sister, brother and nephew.

Made the road trip to Texas. Did it over two days as both my wife and I agreed we are too old for the banzai run. Besides, it seems the Texas Panhandle always has fog this time of year. Not good for the last 25% of your journey at night when doing a straight through run.

Spent Christmas and New Year with wife's #2 son and his family. Had a cranky stomach for a couple of days that kept me housebound while the others went shopping. Stepson's dog didn't mind, she has adopted me, and I got to watch soccer from England in peace. :)

Ate too much good food and got to prowl a couple of pawn shops for guns. Prices are mostly better in Texas. However, by the time I paid for something to be shipped most of the benefit would be gone, or at least that's what I thought until I hit a show in Vegas. Prices were nuts.

On Boxing Day (26 DEC.), I slipped on the ice and shattered my right elbow. Will be in a cast for about 6 weeks!

Christmas was Fantastic. I spent the Holiday visiting my eldest daughter, her husband (who just got his Ph.d.) and my two wiggly giggly Grandchildren.
And my dog, the 85 lb. Black Lab Puppy was invited also! He was very well behaved and gentle. (He received 2 pairs of dirty grandchildren socks in the mail a few weeks before, so he knew them before he got there)
