I had a pretty good one. Since 1991 I have participated in the annual reenactment of Washington's Crossing of the Delaware. I portray a rifleman, lots of meeting and greeting, I note I meet a lot of recent immigrants who want their native born children to learn their country's history. The boats didn't make it, the river too fast this year. Yesterday, the Battles of Trenton, clear skies and milder weather led to a good turnout of reenactors and spectators.

My daughter and her husband came up for Christmas.
So, we had a good one.
They gave me a John Wayne Cast Iron Cookbook. I haven't made
anything from it yet but it's been fun reading through the recipes.
Sort of quiet here now since they and their dog have gone back
"beow the bridge."

It was great: My three grown sons came home, the eldest with his wife and my one and only — so far — grandson. The wife and I spent a lot of time cooking and cleaning up, but it was great to have the boys home.

For some odd reason, I seem to have put on several pounds though ...

I haven't answered my phone in 10 days. That's a good holiday! We have done jigsaw puzzles, watched some TV, and spent a lot of time in the kitchen and out in the snow.

My 4 kids are driving me bonkers, like they've been snorting sugar for a week. We've spent time every day sledding and shoveling snow to try wearing them down but you can't beat youthful enthusiasm.

I've been contemplating cutting my beard off the whole time, if I did I know I would get some affection from the wife. But my mustache is killer right now, its been untrimmed for 3 months and gets in the way when I eat a sandwich.

Wife is with our youngest daughter and our grandkid. So its just me and the dog plus a few cays out back. We both eat twice a day he gets a half can of dog food and i cup of the dry stuff. Just got in a big order from Ohmaha Steaks. strip steaks, burgers, Italian saugages, some keilbasi, ans bratwurst sugsages and some other stuff. Plus whatever is in the freezer. So no lack of food for Christmas and New Years. Even bought a bottle of Seagrams Crown Royal reserve for New Years with Canada dry ginger ale. Frank

It was nice. Off of work from December 21st thru January 2nd is very welcomed. It was nice to get everyone together at my mom and dad's house but I'm honestly ready for normalcy. I enjoyed spending a couple days with my son and his wife though. Too much money spent and zero shooting!!

Oh and I think I've gained some pounds or.....my wife shrunk my clothes?

Our Christmas was lovely! For us, it is about spending time together enjoying the holiday and its meaning. On Christmas day we went for a nice long walk and had fun talking. My husband can really make me laugh at the silliest things. We made a nice dinner and watched a movie. It was the most relaxing Christmas I ever had.

The fun ended at 9:30 when the garage of the house across the street caught on fire. I think there were 5 fire trucks in all to make sure it didn't spread to other homes. Thankfully the family and their baby were okay and sadly they lost their dog who was in the garage. The wife was inconsolable for a couple hours. I felt so bad for them. It was pretty scary. I've never seen a house fire before. I'm very thankful the fire department is only a few blocks away and they got here very quickly. It could have easily been a lot worse.

Besides the 30 mile long parking lot Saturday on southbound I95 north of Fredricksburg, VA for no apparent good reason, other than folks like to hit their brakes on a wide open highway, pretty good.

Pretty decent. Got a really nice fleece throw blanket from BassPro, 500 lumen flashlight, and a North Face Alpine pull over which is far better than the chamois shirts I got plus warmer.
