Thought I would throw this out for fun. Throwing asides the realities of having to pay for it, what would be your dream custom handgun? While having a Hi Power worked over by Cylinder and Slide or a 1911 worked on by Bruce Gray would be high on my list, I think I would have to go for a 610 Mountain Gun.

I know no such thing doesn't exist, that's where the custon part comes in. I think I would start with a Model 28 and then round butt it, have the cylinder and barrel re-bored for 10mm, cylinder cut for moon clips, chamfer the cylinder, gold bead front sight, Millet rear sight, have the whole thing NP3'd, professional action tune and then top it off with a set of factory finger groove combat grips.

A gun Smith & Wesson never made but should have. It would be a great carry gun for both woods and urban envrionments. Starting with a 28 sounds like a lot of work, but I can't think of another way to get a lighter profile barrel that could be bored up to 10mm.

That gives me ideas about my already 610. One thing I've been meaning to do is have a wide trigger and hammer installed like my 29s'. It's a 3" with no ignition key and not fluted. I'm skeptical about a weight savings if I had it fluted, or even if that was a possible option at the factory. All that is withing my means, just keep getting sidetracked at work and home and gets put on the back burner.
