What's your EDC blade?

I always have a Swiss Army Knife in my pocket. Often I have a Kershaw Link or if I want slim and light, a Kershaw Leek.

For me, knives are tools. I don't subscribe to the appeal of high-end knives. Kershaw knives are good enough and cheap enough for my purposes. Conversely, to some folks handguns are just tools and they don't understand the infatuation with certain handguns. They would be baffled at my slobbering over a Triple Lock or Registered Magnum. Neither group is right or wrong. Whatever floats your boat!

Swiss Army Knife, a Christy sliding blade knife attached to my car keys, and one tactical-type knife. I switch off.

I keep a Schrade Uncle Henry 3-blade penknife in my pocket all the time mostly for opening things. The sheepsfoot blade makes for a great box cutter when you don't want to cut too deeply into a package.

I also keep a Gerber Suspension multi-tool in the door pocket of my truck (and another on my desk) for the occasional light chore that requires a small pair of pliers, blade or screwdriver and I don't want to go digging thru my toolkit.

I carry a Cold Steel Safekeeper II push dagger at 11 o'clock in its Kydex sheath, between my belt and pants. This is my primary EDC for serious use. My martial art growing up was boxing. This double edged stabber supports that training.

My EDC for general utility purposes use is carried in my back pocket in a leather holster with pepper spray and a comb. I use it 2-3 times per day. I clean and sharpen it often. Kershaw OSO Sweet. Inexpensive but useful. Also a backup to the primary if necessary.

I probably carry the Piranha Bodyguard the most during the week. Very slim and lightweight and easy to carry in dress clothes or athletic gear. Same can be said for the Kershaw Leek.

When physically working our in the outdoors, the Emerson Sheepdog is what I carry—you can see it is well used.

My son LOVES the Spyderco Harpy (that is mine in the picture, his is well used). He says it is the perfect knife for cutting net wrap from round bales, opening feed bags, cutting rope and twine (what it is designed for), opening boxes, gutting deer (the curved tip acts just like a gut hook) and gutting/cleaning small game. That is all he has carried since I gave it to him two yeas ago.

They are thin and lightweight so they are easy to carry, but VERY strong steel. They feel and lock-up like a bank vault in the hand.

Still carrying the Sog Trident Tanto with spring assist. Posted a while back Sog came up with a version with glass breaker and D-2 steel blade with 3 3/4 inch blade. of course gotta check it out being a knife junkie.

My edc is a Benchmade Mini-Griptilian with D-2 steel along with a Gen4 G-27.

I've had a couple of Mini-Griptilians over the years. Lost one and on another the blade contour has been ground down by use and sharpening. The current one with D-2 steel is the best of them so far.

CRKT M-16 in two sizes. Larger one for outdoor work (Dark Earth coloring) and a black one for everyday. Both have Tanto points and serrations for cutting cordage.

You guys inspired me. As a previous poster stated, it turns out that autos less than 2" are legal in CA. I'm going to order this Boker Stubby Strike 1.9" from BladeHQ for around $42. It got good reviews and doesn't break the bank. I like the fact that it has a locking button. When I was younger I cut myself pretty bad once. Can't decide between the copper blade or smoke washed. What are your opinions?

The reason those are legal in CA, is the length is terrible for effective use
