What affordable sight pusher most people use for their Shield sights.

Have been learning to shoot my new 4" Shield Plus PC and are getting some very Nice 15 yard iron sight groups. I had already gotten some outstanding 15 and 20 yard groups using an MRD sight but I removed that to sight in my iron sights. Only problem is they are 3-3.5" to the left of my POA. Groups are not the least bit to high or low just to far left. As nearly all M&P owners especially those that own Shield's know moving the dovetail sights on a Shield is VERY VERY hard and darned near impossible if at the range to sight in your iron sights if you need to adjust your front sight for a change in POI.

I did just finish installing a set of XS F8 sights on my new 3" Shield plus and it was HUGE PITA in my reloading room using my bench vise that easily weights 75-80lbs. Thankfully got very lucky and the new sights needed no adjustment.

But as I said my 4" Performance Center Shield Plus is printing 3-3.5" to the left and I confirmed this having now shot at least 10 five shot 15 yard groups and five 10 shot 15 yard groups all using a sandbag rest over two range trips. You could literally lay one group target sheet over over another and they line up near perfectly so I know its not my shooting form, plus I have ZERO flyers to the right literally every shot fired hits left of my POA.

I already posted a question asking for advice on simplifying sight adjustment and everyone who replied suggested I get a sight pushing tool.

Does anyone know of a reasonably priced sight adjustment tool they own and have used that will reliably adjust or even remove Shield Dovetail sights that will not damage my sights, slide or itself adjusting or removing Shield dovetailed sights.

So far this has been the only sight recommended in my other post:

I recently purchased a Lyman Sight Pusher which is a quality piece of gear and not too expensive. Don't have extensive experience with it yet but so far has worked well and is easy to use. Liked the fact it is made by an American company with a long history of firearms products who will stand behind the product.

Been asking what sight pusher to buy and these two look to be the best in the less than $150 price range and about the max I can afford.
Anyone able to recommend one over the other as they look to be of different designs.
Wheeler:
Lyman:

My main and only real concerns are
#1 do they create the compound force needed using only reasonable force to move and if need be remove and install sights
#2 Will they easily remove the rear sight on my shields as the sight is of a design that offers only minimal surface contact between the sight and sight moving fixture
#3 will they do #1 & #2 without causing any damage to my sights or the sight moving fixture, as I plan on using painters tape to protect my slide.

One advantage to the Lyman you cant see from the picture is that the adjustment handle slides off and the shaft it fits on is a steel hex shape rod which you can then attach a wrench to for additional leverage if necessary. I have not had to do that but it's a nice feature if you encounter a particularly stubborn sight to be moved. FYI

Ordered the Lyman sight pusher off Amazon. Have also ordered a second set of XS F8 sights for my 4" Shield Plus PC as I absolutely love the XS F8 sights I put on my 3" G2 Shield Plus so I will need the Lyman to remove the old S&W factory sights and install the XS's.
I let my eyes do the choosing between the XS sights over the factory sights on my 4" PC Shield Plus.
Shot my 3" Shield Plus with the XS's then the 4" Shield and unquestionably my eyes much prefered the XS sights.
Will post what I think of the Lyman sight pusher after I finish installing the XS sights and use the Lyman at the range to zero the XS sights.

I have the exact same pistol...4 inch Shield Plus Performance Center. Love the pistol but have been having some issues with light strikes on the primers causing occasional misfires. Have you experienced any of that?

FWIW, though my MGW Pro is probably way more than you'd want to spend, it came with some Delrin shims to avoid marring the slide. I think they're about 1/8th of an inch think.

You could get some Delrin/acetal sheets and make your own.

MGW makes a great sight pusher. Not inexpensive, but a superior product. I have first hand experience with the MGW for Glock tool as well as the Wheeler. If your sight is really snug in the dovetail, you will not be pleased with the Wheeler. If fact, you might damage the Wheeler. If your slight isn't really snug, then the Wheeler's ability to adjust for numerous front and rear sights may be to your liking.

If you want to make precise sight adjustments, in the process of zeroing, a pusher is best. If you want to avoid damage to a tritium sight, especially a bar type, you want a pusher. If you want to make adjustments in the field, say at the range, a pusher is best. If you just want to bang the sight sorta into place, put the taped slide in a solid vise and tap away on a brass or Delrin flat punch. I've done all the above, to suit the purpose at hand.

^^This concept is commonly passed along unchallenged, when in fact a careful use of a proper punch technique is the correct first step. Most sight pushers do not impart force on the sight base like a punch, rather they exert force on the upright sight structure attached to the sight base where the tritium glass vials are housed.

This ^^ suggestion is in direct contradiction to Novak recommendation that performs quite a few tritium sight installations.

The Shield has some unique sight base architecture with thin bars that exert a lot of pressure on the dove tail sight base that must be over come with controlled brute force. The MGW Pro was not able to
move either the front or rear sights, requiring good punch tip geometries, big vise and patience.

It is presumed the thin bars on the sight bases assist the hydraulic arbor press at the factory to allow a smooth reliable insertion of the sights.

Force = pressure / area.......area of thin bars is small, ^^ Force.
