When did Smith & Wesson first offer display or presentation cases for the Model 27?

I am wondering about the first year that display or presentation cases were offered for the Model 27, specifically, with the 6 1/2" length barrel. How would a 27-1 have been shipped when new? I assume that it was in a "2 line" 2 piece blue box with either a solid stripe or "herringbone" pattern stripe.
Thanks for the advice!

The Model 27-2 began shipping in full target configuration and the wooden presentations case around September 1975. Before then the standard hammer and trigger, Magna stocks and cardboard box were used. I don't recall he exact configuration of the blue box.

I have 2 blue m-27 boxes. one marked 27-2, Bangor-Punta Ser # N204,xxx, '74?, 6" bbl and the other solid silver border, just has Model 27 imprinted on one end, 6" with white china marker changing it to 5", Ser # 199,xxx and a post it note in the box stating 1959? Std Cat S&W says solid silver boxes '57-'66 and Bangor-Punta '66-85.
Hope this helps

PS, modern wooden boxes: starting '60 S&W offered N frame optional presentation boxes. 1960-1981

My 5" 27-2 was shipped in May 1975.
Of the 4 type liners shipped w/N frame guns in the Mahogany Presentation cases the type pictured above is the only liners made in the 3 1/2" & 5" for the mod 27s! These cases were used form 1960 thru 1982 and could be purchased as an after market item until about 1985.
