Where are all the 4" 27's

I've posted this one before. Found it in my local shop 3 years ago, w/out box, for $450.00. It's a -2. I'll never part with it.

My My My,,, Lots of beautiful 4" model 27s here.
It seems as thought they are scarce, But still turn up from time to time. I think that most of them are in the hands of folks that think they are just the right size and feel good too!
Here is my dash 3, blued working gun.

Resurrecting this thread.

Found a blued 4" 27-2 today. A good guy I had dealt with before, and was able to make the deal.

With the addition of this one to this thread I now count 13.

Wondering if any of you other cats have one laying around.

Here are the pictures of my blue 27-2 4 inch ,Ser # is N832xxx ,so about 1980, or early 1981.

Here's my Nickel 27-2 4 inch that is about 98% with one small problem in the nickel finish on the barrel.

I just picked up this 27-2; it's recessed, but not pinned - is this unusual? Serial # is N8875XX. DOB? I paid $450.00 - what do you think?

I just posted (with photo) about a 4" 27-3 that I bought a couple of weeks ago. It didn't occur to me when I purchased it that the barrel length was relatively uncommon although I wondered why Smith would produce both a 3 1/2 inch and a 4 inch model of the same gun. Anyone have any insight into that?

i believe standard production of the 3.5 inch barrel ended in 1978 and 4 inch began in 1979. someone will correct me if i am wrong.

i have a lnib 4 inch 27-2 coming in a few days. pinned and recessed 3 t's that i traded for a couple weks ago. i dont want to break any forum rules. so this is not a willing to sell post.. but i will say this if i can, the gun is like new, tool kit, wooden presentation case, flocking is bad plastic tray is like new.i probably will not keep it. if your interested gun nut let me know.
